"Procurement X Engineering = Women X Engineering specialist" You might be wondering what kind of article that I would like to share about. As women in procurement area, I found obstacle that the almost the material request from each department have different type and function. Its become one challenging that as procurement job, we have to learn and understand what kind of product we would buy. Even though there are availaible one specification job called as "procurement engineer" and almost filled by profesional male background. They collaborate with designers to determine the equipment needed to complete manufacturing or construction projects according to specifications, research vendors for that equipment, then order it. As women and procurement in this industry. I started learned how to do all the data process, analytical data and calculations by hand. With technological advances, software completes many of these functions now. For example : 1. Sparepart of sewing machine 2. Electrical part in Panel 3. Waste water treatment - Calculation on Tank (Media and Tank) 4. many more Without engineer background and certifciation, I have to emulate data formula, evaluate, negotiate purchase agreements with vendors and award contracts to vendors for equipment. I also monitor any adjustments to the equipment needed to maintain an optimum supply of equipment to complete projects on time and within budget. Many project has been done successfully over 7years with 3 different company I worked with. Essential Duties Responsible for quality projects being built on time and within budget. Provides periodic status and end of contract cost and budget analysis. Ensures all scope changes are processed and incorporated into the current scope of work in a timely manner.
