As #Lahaina continues the long process of recovering from August's devastating wildfire, experts warn that without careful planning and community engagement, locals may not be able to able to afford to return to their neighborhoods. The fire destroyed thousands of buildings, including older structures that offered relatively affordable housing to renters. With those gone, wealthy outsiders could have an opportunity to build multimillion-dollar single-family homes in Lahaina.
