It's about the WHY behind the buy! 🌟 🔍 So, how do you stand out in a sea of competitors? Get creative! Think outside the box, break the rules

The best marketing doesn't feel like marketing. it's wrapped with too many value to educate and inform your audience. while the take decision.... When you're too salesy, people tends to avoid your products or services because the consider it inferior. But when it's tied with stories and value, it becomes much easier to sale.

Everything comes down to how you market. Want to make more money? Marketing. Want to land your dream job? Marketing. Want to grow your business? Marketing. Some of the world’s most popular visionaries were just really good marketers. However… a lot of marketing is super dull nowadays. This is why, starting tomorrow, I will be breaking down creative ad campaigns from all over time to hopefully inspire the next generation of creative minds to market artfully. Marketing is all around us. From every billboard you see to every ad that is served in your social platform of choice - we are being formed and shaped in becoming the people that others are trying to influence us to become. We see this as a stewardship responsibility. It's a responsibility to go beyond the transaction - to serve in a way that genuinely benefits an individual's life and culture at large. As Seth Godin says, "Each of us is a marketer, and each of us has the ability to make more change than we imagined. Our opportunity and our obligation is to do marketing that we're proud of." And friends - we're proud to do marketing this way. The optimizing for clicks, the paying for more traffic, the pushing buttons on ad platforms - these are simply tools and tactics. But marketing... Marketing is about influence. And we believe that influence should be leveraged for the genuine growth of the customer, the organization, and the culture.

This feels obvious but I'm going to say it anyway. Marketing is not about being a "megaphone," no matter what the stock photos might tell you. Marketing is about being a dog whistle. About communicating at a specific frequency tuned to your target audience. Megaphones are blunt instruments, blasting your voice to everyone within earshot, whether they want to hear it or not. If you have a zillion dollars to blow on a Super Bowl commercial then sure, you can use a megaphone. But for most of us, the key to success is fine-tuning our communications so that the right people perk up and tilt their heads when we reach out to them. So tell a story that resonates with the people you want to reach, and tell it over and over again. Be a dog whistle.

Marketing is often mistaken for just advertising. Marketing is about building lasting relationships with customers. Not just catching their eyes, but engaging their minds. We're not just showcasing products; we're creating meaningful connections. This involves understanding and responding to customers' needs, making every interaction count. This depth transforms marketing from a transactional exchange to a journey of building loyal, engaged communities around our brands.

Stealth marketing is a form of marketing where products or services are promoted indirectly, without the consumer being aware that they are part of a marketing campaign. The goal of this approach is to attract the audience’s attention in a subtle way, making them more receptive to the marketing message. A well-known example of stealth marketing is product placement in movies or TV shows, where brands are featured without appearing as direct advertisements, like when a character in a film uses a specific brand of phone or car as part of the storyline.

Have you ever been individually let go for things totally outside your control? Product and marketing experts on LinkedIn have recently been emphasizing how to have agency in your role. Product: Even if you’re in a feature factory, you can still do x, y, z. Marketing: Would you mind reaching this higher revenue target with a lower budget? I’m all for rising to a challenge, but sometimes management is just out of touch. Let’s share some horror stories about being targeted for “failing” in an unhealthy environment. My example will be in the first comment. I’m interested in hearing yours.

This is our second guiding principle at Outfit: Nothing fake or fluffy. I’ve seen it time and time again: wonderful people put on a marketing hat and unintentionally leave behind their humanity. My hypothesis is that people are subjected to so much fake and fluffy marketing that they think that’s what marketing is supposed to be–that you’re supposed to use flowery or clever language that no human would actually ever say. At Outfit, we use clear, unambiguous language that our audiences understand. And we only reveal stories–we don’t manufacture them. The key is working with great companies that have great stories to tell. I strongly believe that your marketing can only be as compelling as the thing you’re marketing. Do you agree?
