At a time where connection feels more crucial than ever, I'm excited to share new work from the Ad Council's Belonging Begins With Us campaign in partnership with the American Immigration Council. Our 'shared table' PSA is designed to demonstrate how we can bridge across lines of difference to cultivate stronger, more connected communities Nearly three-quarters of Americans report feeling a lack of belonging in their local communities. This feeling of disconnection not only affects our personal well-being but also impacts workplace productivity and the strength of our democracy. It's clear that fostering a sense of belonging is not just important – it's essential. Our new creative partnership with the Team Up Project, led by founding partners Catholic Charities USA, Habitat for Humanity International, Interfaith America , and YMCA of the USA (National Resource Office), seeks to expand relationship-building activities and encourage connection in local communities through shared action. Belonging truly begins with us, and by coming together, we can create stronger, more inclusive communities where everyone feels valued and connected. https://lnkd.in/dwyYFXim

The connection between an engaged volunteer and fundraising is often overlooked. In many cases, organisations don't even share the same information internally so they struggle to send donation requests or acknowledge an overlap between their volunteering activities and what they donate. Thank you Directory of Social Change for sharing our white paper: The Definitive Guide to Volunteer Recruitment. The more active and engaged volunteers you have the more you can increase your fundraising potential. Here's three reasons I'd download this guide and improve the strategy I had for volunteer recruitment 1️⃣ People are becoming harder to find. 2️⃣ Not enough charities are sharing data across all services within a charity 3️⃣ There is a huge gap in EDI and representation within volunteer programs #volunteerrecruitment #volunteermanagement
85% of volunteers also donate to the cause they support The benefits of having a well structured volunteer recruitment strategy go beyond ensuring you have support for your cause, it can also have a significant impact on your fundraising potential. Over 3 millions volunteers are managed through Rosterfy each year giving them a unique perspective of the volunteering landscape. Rosterfy has gathered insights and advice from some of the UK’s leading charities to pull together what they believe is the Definitive Guide to Successful Volunteer Recruitment. Download your strategy and elevate your program today: https://lnkd.in/gn8ETxKQ

In honor of Family Day here are some great tips on how to make your Fundraising events fun for the whole family!
In honor of Family Day we here at Sentinel Consulting want to tackle a fun subject! How to make our fundraising events fun for all ages. We have all been the person in charge of looking after a kid at an adult event and boy do they get bored fast! While we can enjoy a bit of witty repartee around a gala table or a nice walk/run through the city, what engages kids is completely different. By choosing events that can be tailored to kids or adjusted to have kid-friendly areas we make the event more accessible to those with young children in their lives. But even more than that we allow for different forms of community to be built at and around the event. As parents get help entertaining their kids for an evening, we get a chance to share some age-appropriate understanding about our mission and to excite the next generation about what they are capable of! Check out this article on some ideas on how to make your event fun for all ages: https://lnkd.in/gmU3NRwZ

🏠 When I volunteered in-home for survivors of DV, I was taken on tour of the house first. I went into the bedrooms, looked at people's stuff, interrupted somebody coming into their room who looked at me and the manager with discomfort. It was awkward, even though they were told I'd be coming. 😬 I'm the kind of person who frets over making my home look tidy and perfect before having company. (The more you know me, the less I clean. 🤷🏽♀️) It's hard for me to imagine a stranger getting a tour of my home, even if I consented. Mind you, as a volunteer, I needed to understand what was what in the house. And after that initial tour, I never went into anyone's private room. I stuck to the communal areas or the office. Many nonprofits have had success with site tours while others fight the fishbowl effect this creates. But saying "no" is often a lot harder than saying "yes." 🌵 How would you tell a funder “no” to a site visit? Or what criteria do you consider when saying "yes"? Some things I would consider: ➡ Will clients feel uncomfortable? ➡ Will the site visit interrupt critical services? ➡ Will the visitors be flies on the wall or active participants? ➡ How can you ensure visitors will be respectful? ➡ What worries you about saying "no" to visitors? What else would you consider or how would you go about saying "no"?
