Helping tech leaders be seen on LinkedIn to build thought leadership & drive opportunities | Content & Video Marketing | Host of Tech Legacies Podcast & The CG Hour | 2024 AMA Marketing Maverick Marketer of the Year

🛑 Sometimes we stall in life . . . are you going through that right now? I got into a question with Valerie Mason Davis, Senior Patent Counsel at Texas Instruments about how to continuously grow our knowledge base and emotional intelligence on the #TechLegacies podcast. Here’s the advice she shared: 1️⃣ Introspection -  it's so important to understand where you are at any given time in terms of your strengths and your limitations. You can't do it in a vacuum. You have to be reflected through other people's eyes because you can only see so much of who you are. Part of it is internal understanding of where you came from, how you build on your natural strengths and what you need to supplement those with. 2️⃣ Show Up - How do you show up in the world to other people? You could be thinking one thing in your mind but you're showing up completely differently to other people. Become aware of that. 3️⃣ Be curious - You hear about something - go read about it, research it, talk to people. Curiosity will help you at work. Ask lots of questions and get lots of input because you learn so much that way and you get a chance to grow as well. ⏩⏩ What else would you add? How do you keep growing? 📺 Watch our full episode together on YouTube at https://lnkd.in/g2am2u-S #technology #careeradvice #emotionalintelligence #continuouslearning

Great advice, Valerie Mason Davis and Fanny Dunagan! I would add: make a conscious decision to improve the mood of every person you interact with during the day. Spread joy and love - people need it and thrive on kindness. You never know what a difference you can make in someone’s life, AND it makes you feel better, too!

Showing up with intention, not being on autopilot is a challenge for us all. I find this in myself, especially as I … mature. Thanks for always showing up with great intention Fanny Dunagan!

Curiosity is so important. Just when you think you know everything, there’s always something more to discover. Mixing around with very different groups of people helps too!

What sage advice from Ms. Mason Davis and you, Fannie! My favorite parts were about self esteem and confidence and the beautiful testimony about legacy.  I would add the following: Take action-After introspection, showing up, and being curious take some positive action. For instance, work on a discovered developmental need, apply what you learn to a project and, make your presence known, pay your newfound knowledge forward.
