Day 2 of the FAO expert workshop on the status, technological innovations, and industry development needs of mud crab (Scylla spp.) aquaculture Today was focused on hatchery and nursery production systems, technology, innovations, challenges and transportation of megalopa and crablets. Interesting to discuss the different approaches used by different groups and the similarities and differences found between species, the different structures and organisation of the private sector in different countries. Also some new developments in feed development for mud crabs, as well as new approaches to health screening. In 2020, Sharif Marine Technology manufactures floating and semi-submersible fish cages. A scaled model is tested in accordance with worst environmental conditions prior to manufacture and set-up and performance and quality will be confirmed.
