In 2020, Sharif Marine Technology manufactures floating and semi-submersible fish cages. A scaled model is tested in accordance with worst environmental conditions prior to manufacture and set-up and performance and quality will be confirmed. High-grade indigenous components with lower costs are used for manufacturing cages while keeping up with the quality of similar products. The process of set-up and completion of the café structure is done in the coastal region with the utmost precision with the purpose of preventing any possible defect in the process of installation and operation. The operators of these cages will be able to perform aquaculture operations with ease using equipment installed on different parts of these cages, which will significantly lower the operation costs of the farm. Laboratory tests and studies provide the designer with the conditions needed for the optimal design of the cage. The built cage will have resistance and operability in the worst conditions of the implementation site by optimal design and using the best raw materials and safety factors. All this means the cages manufactured by this company are equal, or even superior to in some instances, foreign cages while keeping a much lower cost in comparison to them. Day 2 of the FAO expert workshop on the status, technological innovations, and industry development needs of mud crab (Scylla spp.) aquaculture Today was focused on hatchery and nursery production systems, technology, innovations, challenges and transportation of megalopa and crablets. Interesting to discuss the different approaches used by different groups and the similarities and differences found between species, the different structures and organisation of the private sector in different countries. Also some new developments in feed development for mud crabs, as well as new approaches to health screening.
