While job boards and websites can be helpful tools to securing employment, did you know that many employers do not advertise all of their open positions online? With the rapidly evolving employment market, positions are opening faster than companies can post them. When you arrive at a DAV job fair, it’s important to stop at every booth and see what open positions they have. You will be surprised at how many different skills you can bring to an industry you might not have considered. For the full schedule of 2024 DAV job fairs, both in-person and virtual, along with more employment resources for veterans, visit jobs.dav.org.

I teach learning through music. Composer, Performer, Producer, Education Specialist. Advocate for mental health, wellness, and universal design for learning to meet the needs of ALL learners.
Any free continuing education offer with Jennifer Gonzalez, let me be the one to tell you if you don't know already -- Clear your schedules! Don't miss it :) When I was getting my credential, it was Jennifer who first helped me understand the critical transition between learning to read and reading to learn. As I began teaching, I discovered there is a parallel discernment we as #EduCreators (love that word, genius Christel Guillen!!) make daily between thinking to write and writing to think: there are editing ("thinking to write") moments, and there are creative moments ("writing to think"). In all classrooms, there is room to support both at differentiated levels for all students--we just have to keep equipping ourselves and pushing education further, higher, and wider. I hope this is a packed house -- excited for this!!!

Are you interested in new innovative ways to recruit? Then join us at Eccles Town Hall for our inaugural Reverse Job Fair... What's it all about..? A reverse job fair is an innovative event where the roles are reversed. Job seekers have their own stands where they showcase their skills and experiences, and employers walk around the venue, visiting candidates that align with their employment needs. This format provides a unique opportunity for employers to meet a diverse range of candidates in a more personal and detailed manner than traditional jobs fairs or recruitment events. More here... Q: What exactly is a Reverse Job Fair? A: Imagine a traditional job fair turned on its head! Instead of employers setting up booths, it’s the job seekers who showcase their skills and experiences at their own tables. Employers walk around, engage in conversations, and discover potential candidates. Q: What role do employers play at this event? A: Employers are the audience with a unique opportunity to meet a diverse group of talented individuals, learn about their skills, and even discuss potential job opportunities. It’s a chance to see the person behind the CV. Q: Who sets up the tables at a Reverse Job Fair? A: The job seekers themselves! Each participant sets up a table to represent their skills, experiences, and the type of work they’re seeking. It’s a personal touch that adds depth to their professional profile. Q: Do I need to have vacancies in my company to attend? A: Not necessarily on the day. If you are anticipating recruitment for specific roles in the future but these positions are not yet open, you are still encouraged to attend. Feel free to bring along job specifications and share the expected timescale for recruitment. This event offers a fantastic opportunity to get ahead in finding the perfect candidate for upcoming roles. Q: Why is the job fair organised in this manner? A: This format empowers job seekers to present themselves in a creative and personal way, while employers get a clearer, more holistic view of potential candidates. It’s a win-win: candidates stand out, and employers find hidden gems. Q: Why should I attend this Reverse Job Fair? A: Beyond the opportunity to fill current vacancies, you’ll be networking, promoting your company, and perhaps most importantly, supporting an inclusive employment landscape. It’s an investment in the community and in the future of your business. Mark Your Calendar! When: 26th March Where: Eccles Town Hall Hosted by: Salford Supported Employment Service Interested?
