You get promoted for: - Kicking back more money than expected. - Making a connection in law enforcement - Working well & closely with people outside of your crew - Leading your crew well in an impactful money making initiative - Finding unseen, underlying rats & solving them - Doing a stint for the family Doing your job well is great. It just means you will continue to do that job well. To get promoted, you have to go above. Beyond. Do more than your described job. That doesn't mean hours. It means money. Sometimes your family outlines exactly what that looks like (love those). Sometimes you have to guess (sorry, I hate it, too). Agree?

A few months into my new part-time job….. Recently I was selected as Director of Operations and Quality Control in the Diaper Division at Haynes Inc., I’ve gained insight which has helped me grow as a professional. Here are five beneficial truths I’ve further cemented in life and in business: 1. Patience truly is a virtue. 2. It can get messy…. breathe, proceed promptly with dignity and grace. 3. In a collaborative effort, always be aware of your team member’s needs via communication and transparency. 4. I don't have a toxic story to tell Because I was satisfied with my last job. I worked there like my life depends on it. But I kept thinking—what if I applied the same amount of hard work to something of my own? I wanted to build something I could call mine. I wanted to create a pack of wolves. I wanted to build a culture—a culture that resonated with me. That’s why I left my job. There were no major issues. I didn’t want a company to earn lakhs from my hard work while I received just 5-10% as a salary. I didn’t want to wait for a year to be appreciated for my efforts. I wanted to see what would truly happen if I built something on my own. I wanted to be fully responsible for every penny I earn. I’ve reached that stage in life where I feel more satisfied than simply happy. I will call myself lucky, Because I didn’t give in to cheap dopamine. I stayed patient. I heard everyone say, “Your path is risky.” I listened to them so they could listen to me in the future. I’m not fighting against the world. I’m at war with myself.

1) Make sure you provide evidence. - Provide specific examples of your experience that align with the qualifications they are looking for. - Quantify (if applicable) 2) Ask what you can take off their plate (the hiring manager) in the first couple of days. 3) Make sure to be enthusiastic about the role and what you bring to the table to add value. 4) Be prepared not surprised - No deer in the headlights when they ask you to explain how you fit the position.
