📈 Excited to discuss the importance of diversifying your product offerings! Just like we wouldn't rely solely on one product, diversifying your offerings spreads risk and ensures stability. Imagine a farmer who only sells eggs—if something happens to the egg market, they're in trouble. But if they also sell dairy, vegetables, and fruits, they're better equipped to weather market fluctuations. Remember, it's all about not putting all your eggs in one basket! #BusinessStrategy #Diversification 🌟

Rising Costs in the Bakery Industry: A Challenge for All 🍞🥐 Dear Friends and Valued Customers, It’s no longer news, As many of you might have noticed the recent trends, the bakery industry, like many others sectors of the economy, is currently facing significant challenges due to rising inflation. I wanted to take a moment to share some insights into what this means for us and for you, our cherished community. 🌾 Ingredient Prices Skyrocketing The cost of major ingredients like flour, sugar, and butter has increased in prices. This rise is primarily due to global supply chain disruptions (like the war between Urkraine and Russia, two of the top 10 largest producers of wheat) and increased demand. The impact on our daily operations is substantial, making it difficult to maintain our usual prices without compromising on quality, hence the constant price review. Price reviews are no longer quarterly but almost daily. For instance, when we started the bakery in 2019, a bag of flour was 9,900, sugar was 13,000 naira, but now a bag of flour is 78,000, and sugar 82,000. You can imagine what we are dealing with. 🛠️ Increased Operational Costs Our overheads from Utilities, packaging, and transportation costs have also seen a huge hike. Take a look at PMS (FUEL and the electricity tariff) These operational expenses are a critical part of our business, and their increase puts additional strain on our ability to offer affordable products. ❤️ Your Support Matters Despite these hurdles, our commitment to providing you with the highest quality baked goods remains unwavering. We deeply appreciate your continued support and understanding as we navigate these difficult times. Every purchase, every positive review, and every word of encouragement means the world to us at this point. We are exploring all possible avenues to mitigate these challenges, including sourcing alternatives and optimizing our operations to maintain the balance between quality and affordability. We call on stakeholders and industry leaders to find a lasting solution to the above issues, so we can all live a good life without compromise. Thank you for being a part of our journey. Together, we will rise above these challenges and continue to bring joy to your tables with our delicious baked goods. Warm regards, Your favourite bread seller, Sunrise Bakery Omaglobal Omale Godwin writes from Jos. #BakeryIndustry #RisingCosts #SupportLocal #QualityMatters
