Earlier this week, Paul Scheetz, our director Of Climate Smart Ag Origination, had the privilege of joining the 4th Annual Sustainability Week: Countdown to COP29 for an insightful discussion on how regenerative agriculture can help support nature as well as drive profitability. He shares five takeaways from his conversation. 1️⃣ It all starts with the farmer. For farmers, financial sustainability is paramount. Any investment they make is not just for today, but for future generations. 2️⃣ Every field in every farm is unique. No two fields are the same and differences in soil, climate, and crops mean every farm needs a tailored approach. 3️⃣ It’s more than just financial incentives. While productivity and cost are important, education and technical support are just as vital. Strong partnerships are the backbone of this effort. 4️⃣ Technology and data are key. Technology plays a crucial role in monitoring progress. Although the practices aren't new, the integration of tech in regen ag is still evolving. 5️⃣ Collaboration is vital. Tomorrow’s food system relies on bringing together farmers, food companies, and data platforms. At ADM we already have the infrastructure and daily connections with farmers to help drive adoption of regen ag practices.
