I just backed this Kickstarter and here’s 3+ reasons why you should, too… 1️⃣ Support your friends - it’s really that easy. If your friend has a popsicle stand in the dead of summer, buy a damn popsicle. It doesn’t mean you personally have to be a corporate-sized backer for every friend you’ve ever had. Just do something to show your support. It could be a $1 donation or heck, even just sharing their message would be huge! 2️⃣ Ana really has seen a lot of stuff hit the fan over 2 decades. If any part of your role is #communications (and yes, that includes communicating up and down the chain of command), then you really want to learn from someone like Ana who has the experience. 3️⃣ #Crisis comes unexpectedly, but that doesn’t mean you have to be unprepared. Please, don’t be unprepared. As a #Marketing leader who owns the Crisis Comms function, time is a valuable commodity during a crisis. There are so many things going on right that moment - trust when I say that is not the best time to have to learn as you go. Bonus: I mean just lookit! The illustrations, plushies, JUST LOOKIT!!! A monumental threat is facing animals in our country, and we need your help to stop it! Ever since the Supreme Court of the United States upheld the strongest farm animal protection law in the country—California's Proposition 12—lobbyists representing only a segment of the pork industry have pushed for a so-called “fix”—a “fix” that is not at all necessary. And now it's clear that their allies in Congress are going to try and use the Farm Bill to implement their so-called “fix.” The proposed partisan Farm Bill in the U.S. House of Representatives contains language that aims to invalidate Prop 12 and could also wipe out hundreds of other state laws not only relating to animal welfare and animal products, but also how states regulate the sales of products within their own borders, set standards for disease and quarantine control, toxic materials, and more. Animals (and people) need your help to stop the unraveling of even the most basic protections. TAKE ACTION Please make a brief, polite phone call to your U.S. Representative and two U.S. Senators and urge them to oppose the Prop 12 “fix” in the Farm Bill. You can find their contact information here. You can simply say, "Prop 12 and other state animal welfare laws do not need to be “fixed.” As your constituent, I urge you to oppose language in the Farm Bill that seeks to nullify state animal protection laws." Calling is so important. Please do not skip this crucial step. Then, personalize and submit to send a follow-up message.
