Hot take: Making shopping "easier" is killing retail profits. IKEA's maze-like stores aren't poor design. They're psychological genius. Friction = Value perception Effort = Purchase pressure The data proves it. *adjusts glasses nervously* Disagree? Let's debate. I hope you've found this thread helpful. I’m amazed by how IKEA transforms simple items into something so captivating. Take hangers, for example—they’re everyday household items we rarely think about buying. But when they’re creatively suspended from the ceiling like a maze , it’s so intriguing that I can’t help but want to grab one! I like this inspirational quote from Mr Terry Gou - “Always establish a sense of direction. It’s okay if you’re unsure where to go—just take that first step. The rest will follow”. This conveys the idea that progress begins with action, even in the absence of complete clarity. #communitypharmacist #preventivecare #pharmacist

At IKEA, affordability is at the heart of what we offer. In FY24, we invested €2.1 billion to lower prices, making better homes accessible to more people. By consistently delivering on our promises, IKEA stands out in a competitive market, captures greater market share, and provides stability, even in uncertain times. Brand building isn’t only about purpose, it is a long term financial strategy fostering customer loyalty and encourages repeat business. 💛💙 Watch Juvencio Maeztu below to learn more or read the press release: https://lnkd.in/e2uwNadi #affordability #purpose #brand

Sorry, last post on the IKEA story, I promise 🙂. One other thing that I thought was fascinating was how they approach working capital. Most companies optimize for keeping inventory low and minimizing capital tied up in the business. That means just-in-time delivery, extending supplier payment terms, and quick cash conversion. But IKEA doesn’t think this way. They’re willing to build excess inventory when manufacturers have capacity. They’re willing to pay suppliers faster than the industry standard. They hold a lot more safety stock than peer companies. And they’re more than happy to take advantage of bulk purchasing opportunities. In other words, they use working capital as a competitive lever rather than a cost to be minimized. As a result, they have fantastic supplier relationships, best-in-class product availability, and great prices. The lesson (I think): your working capital strategy should be downstream of your business model. If you have a strong balance sheet, there can be advantages to breaking with conventional wisdom.

Better late than never. Love how IKEA brings nostalgia and fun into their campaigns! The Harlem Shake comeback is such a clever way to connect with their audiences. Great reminder that creativity and a bit of humor go a long way. #creativity #advertising #marketing #campaign
IKEA Sweden just dropped the Harlem Shake… 12 years late. But they’re owning it to launch their loyalty program (yes, they’re that late). The brand leans into internet nostalgia with the new promo campaign that also features the bottle flip and mannequin challenge. Late, but brilliant. In today's rapidly evolving marketplace, consumer behavior is shaping supply chains like never before. E-commerce growth, sustainability demands, and the shift toward personalization are all pushing businesses to rethink their logistics and production strategies. For instance, the rise of conscious consumerism has led brands like Patagonia and IKEA to focus on circular supply chains. IKEA recently launched a "Buy Back & Resell" program in several markets, encouraging customers to return old furniture for refurbishment and resale—a sustainable approach that aligns with customer values while optimizing material use. Similarly, the demand for faster delivery is driving companies like Amazon to invest heavily in micro-fulfillment centers and autonomous delivery systems. These investments not only meet customer expectations but also streamline inventory management and reduce last-mile delivery costs. Businesses that anticipate and adapt to these shifting consumer trends can enhance efficiency, build stronger customer loyalty, and maintain a competitive edge. 🔑 Key Takeaway: Consumer preferences aren’t just influencing what’s produced—they’re reshaping how goods move across the globe. Businesses that embed flexibility and sustainability into their supply chains will thrive in this dynamic landscape. #SupplyChain #ConsumerTrends #Sustainability #Logistics #ECommerce #Innovation #CircularEconomy #BusinessGrowth #FutureReady
