Founder and CEO of Airbox Systems. Airbox exists to protect all people through software which connects and enables the world’s responders. We are at the heart of over 200,000 emergency services operations a year.
In light of ongoing far-right violence in the UK, I think it’s important to reaffirm Airbox’s support for our emergency services and also stand up for our values around kindness and humanity. Despite the recent disorder, we should be reminded of the strengths of our communities. Acts such as these highlight the importance of kindness, unity, and cooperation. At Airbox, I’ve always tried to ensure that these values, in particular, are at the front of our decision-making. The decision to always be kind is one of the most important that any of us can make. It’s easy to recognise why it is important when it is your own family, and I believe that all of humanity is one family. Also at the core of our mission is a commitment to support those who dedicate their lives to helping others. We see time and time again the crucial role our emergency services play in maintaining public safety and wellbeing. We recognise the risks which they take, often unwitnessed, to protect people they usually don’t know. Their bravery, professionalism, and dedication to duty have always inspired me. In this moment, we also stand in support of the victims, their families and friends, and the communities affected by this unrest. Airbox will continue to champion empathy, cooperation, and resilience. Because it’s important always to put actions against our words, we will be making a donation both to an Emergency Services Charity and to the Red Cross.

On the 2nd of October, other members of the specialist sales team and me, along with friends from our cybersecurity partner Check Point Software, will be completing the National Three Peak Challenge in 24 hours. Training has been challenging. I live in gradient-free West London. As a Northern friend pointed out, there is no substitute for real hills. So, I walk to Richmond Hill and do laps of it . Or I walk up and down the ‘hills’ in Northala Park. I am also (trying) to reduce my intake of that most ‘West London’ of diets: rosé and Gregg’s vegan sausage rolls. Finally, I have just been told that I need to buy those sticks for walking (‘they take 40% of your weight’) after a long history of at laughing at people who use on the canal path near my house . (That will teach me). So why I am doing this ? It is my 50th year this year and it fits in nicely with the whole mid life crisis narrative. I like walking. I will enjoy being annoyingly cheerful and chatty in the minibus between climbs. Also, we are raising money for the NSPCC. Last year BT was selected to provide communication services to NSPCC. The NSPCC provides many services including Childline. This is a service that receives a call from a child every 45 seconds. If this service becomes unavailable, then vulnerable children will be unable to access it. To make sure this service stays available the BT team build a solution that wouldn’t fail. This involved doing some cool stuff with ‘packet duplication protocol’ amongst other things. We are proud to support the NSPCC with this critical service and are looking to raise money to support them. If you can give some money, then please do on the link below.

Former Coastguardsman continuing life-saving service through CPR training, first-aid, and access to defibrillation. Partnering with those committed to life preservation with a shared mission that everyone returns home.
🚔 Ensuring Safety, One AED at a Time: Had the privilege of donating two AEDs from our raffle at Texas Police Chiefs Association Conference to Chief Dan Harris over at Stephenville Police Department and Chief Bobby Lane over at Converse Police Department. In today's financial climate, police departments are stretched thin, prioritizing the safety of their communities while managing tight budgets to retain staff. With cardiac arrest being a real threat in any community, having access to defibrillation can truly make all the difference in saving lives. At SafetyMed, we believe in supporting our local law enforcement agencies and empowering them with the tools they need to protect and serve. These AEDs will not only enhance the capabilities of our police departments but also provide an essential lifeline in critical moments. Just one device can truly make all the difference in saving a life. That's why we're extending our support beyond these departments, offering partnering consultative services to commands across the State of Texas aiming to enhance their response times to sudden cardiac arrests. 🚨🫀 chris.manning@safetymed.com

Since 2006, June 15th has been designated as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, reminding us of the importance of preventing elder abuse, particularly financial abuse. Equally important, though receiving less focus, is recovery. Financial fraud can have devastating impacts. Starting July 6th for families & allies and July 9th for victims, the nonprofit, Give an hour, is launching Financial Fraud Peer Support Groups to provide the support and connection needed. As much as I love colourful stationery... I'm calling time on the walls covered in post it's designing overly-complicated supporter journeys. * Keep it simple, but beautiful and engaging * Make it implentable. What resources do you actually have for automation? * Focus on the stories you're telling and the feelings of your supporters.
