Lovely chatting to Caroline Hill yesterday about Harvey and Microsoft 365 Copilot and our portfolio approach at CMS UK to generative AI. I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to reading quotes from myself in the third person though! Also thanks to Bert Vries and Dominic Judge and the whole team for all their help with Harvey in particular. #ai #genai #legaltech #legalinnovation
International law firm CMS announced yesterday (27 March) that it has selected generative AI vendor Harvey as part of a portfolio approach that is seeing the UK top 50 law firm build out its experience of multiple gen AI systems. I had a really helpful chat with director of innovation John Craske about the firm’s portfolio mentality and approach to #generativeai including Microsoft Copilot. #legaltech https://lnkd.in/eBfC5eUH

What will make the V20 break their defensive posture and decide to adopt the myriad, near-identical generative AI products for the legal space (all with the propensity for dysfunction and underwhelming results)? Remember: this is the V20. These are sophisticated and informed practitioners. Written testimonies aren’t going to meet their bar of scrutiny. Vague promises about hallucination protections are great, but promises are easy to make. What they’ll come to expect is a rigorous and realistic assessment of reliability from a third-party for each product on the work it promises to augment. In other words, Mutable. And few (if any) products will be an exception to this standard.
