I love a good waitlist strategy.
It's such a simple, yet effective way to gauge interest in a new product or service that you're launching.
I remember years ago speaking to an entrepreneur who spent a whole year planning, scripting, filming, editing, and building a training program. A WHOLE YEAR.
When he launched, it was the first time his audience ever heard of this program that he was building.
Can you guess what happened?
Crickets.
No sign-ups.
Mo free trial interest.
No dm or email.
Just silence.
From that conversation with that entrepreneur (I can still remember the sadness in his voice) I realized that you have to talk to your audience way earlier in your product-building process.
Use wait lists, polls, surveys, and invite them to hop on a call to ask them questions to make sure that your product will have a market fit. (If you want a list of questions to ask, let me know and I can share in a future post).
For example - if you're launching a training program, you may even want to teach the first couple of iterations LIVE, so that you can gauge if your curriculum is hitting the nail on the head, and you don't have a blind spot in your training content.
Perhaps leave space for Q&A after those first live training sessions, so you can hear what other questions and pain points your members/students have, that you can include in your current program, or perhaps future programs.
📸 This photo is a story that Katie Steckly shared on her IG yesterday, sharing a wait list with her audience. Katie's brilliant when it comes to many things, but especially when it comes to engaging and involving her audience in all that she does in her business. If you want to check out what Katie's building, I'll leave a link to her IG and waitlist in the comments.
