Scaling ECF Media to fuel $100M+ Growth at East Coast Facilities. Writer | Editor | Storm Chaser | Snow Creative ❄️
A simple yet powerful truth. A uniform doesn’t make someone a hero. True heroism in our facilities is so much more than that: It's about... ➟ Braving the storms, committed to safety and service ➟ Diligence in maintenance, ensuring operational excellence ➟ Swift responses to weather challenges, protecting property and people ➟ Unseen hours of hard work that keep our environments pristine It's about the actions taken every day by our dedicated team behind the wheel. These are the actions that keep East Coast Facilities, Inc. safe and operational, no matter the weather. And they have everything to do with dedication, not just the uniform. The best facility managers know and see this. As we often say: "It’s not about the role, it’s about the goal." Our drivers, our facility heroes, embody this every day.

As a proud gold partner of National Road Safety Week (5-12 May 2024), we at Toll Group are committed to driving change and fostering a culture of safety on our roads. This week is a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility we share in ensuring the well-being of every road user. By taking the pledge, we're not just making a promise to ourselves; we're setting an example for others to follow. We're acknowledging that our actions have the power to prevent accidents and save lives. We're embracing the principles of road safety as part of our core values. This week, let's all pledge to: - Stay alert and minimise distractions. - Never use our phones while driving. - Respect speed limits and traffic laws. - Never drive under the influence. - Be considerate of all road users, especially the most vulnerable. As a gold partner, we lead by example, showing that road safety is a priority not just during this week, but every day. Join us in making this commitment here https://lnkd.in/ghmFUPbT and encourage others to do the same. Together, we can make our roads a safer place for everyone.

Across the Network Rail ‘Wales 🏴 and Borders’ route, we have been working hard to improve train 🚂 service punctuality 🕰️ . We are making progress but still more to do…… We have dealt with many of the obvious issues, TSRs etc, reducing delay impacts there by over 80% in 2 years. We are also working collaboratively with Transport for Wales and our NR ‘System Operator’ colleagues on timetable evolutions and more. We also have a growing number of relatively simple schemes that provide #MarginalGains . A minute or two, sometimes more, on services all day, every day….. These gains all build up to a higher performing railway, more resilient etc. Elliott Swallow from TfW recently posted that most of the TfW mark 4 services running between Cardiff and Manchester have now been strengthened to 5 carriages - vital capacity. Lovely trains, by the way, and with proper catering on board (try it!). We have worked jointly with TfW to enhance the passenger experience on this vital corridor. I am pleased that we have been able to increase the speed profiles for these superb and comfortable (loco hauled) trains between Shrewsbury and Crewe over this weekend - permanent speed restriction (PSR) increases. And we move on to the Shrewsbury to Hereford section next (with a well advanced plan, commissioning soon). We have many other small and simple schemes now on a roll - Carmarthen, Ferryside, Cardiff area, Shrewsbury, Bidston Line, North Wales coast, Cambrian lines and more. The railway engineering being kept as simple as possible, costs kept low, sensible risk management, but performance enhancement being realised! A thank you from me to everyone who is collaborating on these relative cheap and effective projects. And finally, a challenge from me to all of us railway engineering folks (I am one): how can we further accelerate and simplify these types of schemes……? Faster, simpler and cheaper implementation, without taking undue risk - I believe there are many opportunities and would be keen to hear feedback on this 😎. Principal S&T Testing & Commissioning Manager - Engineering Services Delivery - Route Services (National Signal Works)
Delivered safely and on-time, despite the challenge of #stormkathleen #nationalsignalworks, are pleased to share another successful #collaborativeworking scheme, which was installed, tested and commissioned on-time and will bring #reliabilaty, and a #competitive timetable on the Shrewsbury-Crewe line. Industry partners, #nationalsignalworks worked with #networkrailwalesandwestern, especially the teams at Shrewsbury, to deliver these line speed increases. Comissioning the increase from 70 to 90 MPH for our key customer and partner #tfw #transportforwales, #class67 #locohauled #premierservices as part of our #puttingpassengersfirst commitment to, improved and competitive #timetable on the nationally strategic route between North Wales/Manchester and South Wales. Not only will minutes be knocked off the #journey time, but will also make the timetable more robust and #flexible #networkrail #engineeringservices, #signalworks #shrewsburydu #walesandwestern #testing #testingandcomissioning #puttingpassengersfirst #greatbritishrailway #teamwork #collaborativeworking Nick Millington MBE

Early in my TRL career the thought of responding to letters from the public filled me with fear. I now see it as a privilege. A recent letter I received on warning triangles gave me pause for thought on how sometimes asking the right question (not always the expected one) can take us in directions in which we may not have otherwise gone. National Road Safety Week, an annual initiative from the SARAH Group (Founder: National Road Safety Week), partners road safety advocates, organisations and Government. The week highlights the impact of road trauma and ways to reduce it. Driving remains one of the Australian energy industry's highest-risk activities, and this year, during National Road Safety Week (5-12 May) we encouraged all road users to remember those who have lost their lives on our roads, to reflect on how we can make our roads safer, and act to make a difference. We are Stronger and Safer Together. https://lnkd.in/g2Pitr5t
