1 in 3 victims of human trafficking worldwide is a child. This year's global campaign, "Leave no child behind in the fight against human trafficking," highlights the severe risks children face, often from their own families. Familial trafficking makes up about 40% of all trafficking cases. These cases frequently go unreported due to the complex dynamics of loyalty and trust within families. Many children can't recognise abusive behaviour from those they trust because they lack exposure to healthy family interactions. It's crucial to educate ourselves and others about the signs of trafficking and the realities of familial exploitation. This Missing Children Day, we want to talk about child trafficking and how to spot the warning signs. What is child trafficking? It's a global problem affecting children of all backgrounds. Misconceptions about child trafficking can prevent us from recognising it. 🔸Traffickers often establish trust with their victims and can be family members or acquaintances, not just strangers. 🔸Trafficking doesn't happen only outside, an offender might hide behind a screen and use social media to reach out to and exploit a young victim. 🔸This abuse isn't limited to developing countries; it occurs in high-income nations too. How can we all look out for it? Learn more in our article 👉https://bit.ly/4bjDNFm #endchildtrafficking #missingchildrenday #childprotection #warningsings #INHOPE

Everyone has a role to play in protecting children from any form of violence whether online or offline. #Onlinechildexploitation has been on the rise since 2020 while other forms of child abuse and exploitation have existed for a very long time. #Harmfulculturalpractices have continued to persist despite efforts put in place to end them. Efforts to end #childlabour by 2025 have been in place yet when we look at data, cases of child labour have continued to go up. Emerging issues continue to complicate the efforts to end violence against children. It is time stakeholders need to seat together and evaluate the child protection efforts even as we look forward to the World Day against Human Trafficking this year's theme focusing on ending child trafficking. #2024Theme: Leave no child Behind in efforts to combat human trafficking #Endchildtrafficking #Leavenochildbehind #Leavenoonebehind #Endhumantrafficking #stopviolenceagaistchildren #Stopchildtrafficking

Rape is a violation of human rights and must not be tolerated. No one deserves to live in fear of sexual violence. It is time to break the silence and speak out against rape in our communities. We must create a culture of respect, where consent is always a priority. Survivors deserve our support, not judgment. Together, we can build safer spaces for everyone. Let’s educate ourselves and others about the importance of consent. Ending rape starts with each of us. It’s time to stop blaming victims and start holding perpetrators accountable. Speak up, intervene, and protect those at risk. Every voice matters in this fight. Together, we can put an end to rape. A few days ago, we gathered as a community to raise our voices against one of the most egregious violations of human rights: human trafficking. On this World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we unite in solidarity with survivors, advocates, and organizations worldwide to shine a light on this global issue. Human trafficking is a crime that exploits the most vulnerable among us, often targeting women, children, and marginalized communities. It thrives in the shadows, fueled by greed, desperation, and a lack of awareness. It manifests in various forms – from forced labor and sexual exploitation to organ trafficking and forced marriage. Behind each statistic is a human story of unimaginable suffering and loss of dignity. As a community, we have a responsibility to educate ourselves and others about the signs of trafficking, to support survivors on their path to recovery, and to hold perpetrators and traffickers accountable. Awareness is our first line of defense, and action is our greatest weapon against this modern-day slavery. #EndHumanTrafficking #WorldDayAgainstTrafficking #CommunityAgainstTrafficking
