Why is political marketing interesting for marketers (as well as public speakers, for the choice of topics, messages and how the candidates and the parties choose to frame the topics they talk about)?   Because besides the future of us human beings, nations and the planet being at stake, there are also huge amounts of money involved.   In the US, spending on political advertising is estimated to triple this year compared to the presidential elections of 2016, and surpass 12 billion dollars (source: eMarketer US Political Ad Spending Forecast 2024).   For a comparison, that’s more than 6000 times the campaign budget of Alexander Stubb, who was elected president of Finland this winter.
