As filmmakers, we often encounter unexpected trouble. Sudden rain ruins a romantic sunset scene, the main actor gets stuck in traffic, and a peaceful meadow you scouted last week happens to be occupied by cows. Sounds familiar? Then you know what happens next: the thoroughly constructed shot list flies into the garbage. #visualstory #cinematographyworkshop #visualsubtext #mzedprosubscription #MZedcourse #visualstorytelling #mzedpro #mzededucation

I highly recommend this video essay on the use of aspect ratio in film creation and presentation to all involved in the industry. The employment of aspect ratio as a marketing tool for Premium Large Formats (PLF) has often raised concerns. However, the issue is far more nuanced. Aspect ratio plays a crucial role in the creative process, going beyond mere cropping. It's about storytelling and tailoring the viewing experience for different environments—be it a cinema, IMAX, or home setting. Filmmakers with a technical mindset tend to grasp this concept fully. While I believe finding a perfect compromise in approach may not be possible, I am optimistic that filmmakers will become increasingly skilled and knowledgeable in this area over time. #aspectratio #imax #cinema

Short films are likely what any new filmmaker will be making for the first portion of their career, and it is perfectly acceptable to want to continue producing them at any point in your filmmaking journey! A good challenge is to set yourself a time limit and attempt to make the most of that time as possible. In this blog, we will be looking back to one of my shortest films, My Map (2022). #SHORTFILM #FILMMAKING https://lnkd.in/evCFZd87

Important I note this achievement here, especially in view of my previous mention of possible challenges being faced by Israel's cultural world. I reference the issue as a beginner screenwriter, just two years out of film school (and clearly at the bottom of the cinematic food chain). https://lnkd.in/dpZE_Zvw

As we complete our prosperous journey of 3 years, celebrating our achievements & strengths, from pre to post-production, we have created a small film. This film speaks a lot about the eccentric characteristics of our team, in many ways true, and in many ways not. Watch it with a pinch of salt. Viewer discretion is advised 😉 #teambuilding#postproductions#advertising#directorofphotographyrofphotography#director#TeamWork#StrongerTogether 🌟
