Do you know the 5-finger consensus method (Fist to Five technique).? It's a simple facilitation technique that allows a group to quickly and directly evaluate a topic or idea 😊. This technique is used in facilitation processes to engage all participants in actively responding to a proposed solution, evaluating an idea or concept in a quick and direct manner. Showing the level of your agreement on a scale from zero finger (fist) to a maximum of 5 fingers But what if you wanted to use it differently? What if you asked workshop participants to evaluate it in this form? If the workshops were well thought out, prepared, and conducted, you have a chance to receive feedback like the one in the photo 😊. Another module of the Development Program for Area Sales Managers, Sales Trainers, and Customer Development Advisors is behind us 😊. This time, we tackled the more numerical part of the difficult material, namely "Profitability management in cooperation with the customer” Hours of exercises, an immense sea of engagement, and unwavering optimism... this is thanks to our trainers – #PrzemysławWystarczyk and the trainers from the 4 Results group, especially #TomaszZagadan. 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐀𝐏, and it’s going great! 😌 In today’s session, my trainer, Bisho Chamssuddin, highlighted the importance of putting effort in the 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦. He explained that 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲—companies that try, often fail. This connects to the 𝟖𝟎/𝟐𝟎 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞, which states that 80% 𝘰𝘧 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 20% 𝘰𝘧 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘴. This revelation helped me understand why my hard work in sales hadn’t led to better results. Another interesting point was that when asked about their problems, most people talk about their goals instead of their real issues. I can relate; when my sales were down, I focused on stating my goals rather than addressing underlying problems. 𝑰𝒕’𝒔 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔—how else can we understand what’s really going on and fix it? 🤔 Lastly, I was introduced to 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐳𝐢 and his book 100𝘔 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘴, which I’m excited to dive into! Lunch and Learns? Do we love them, hate them, or are we completely indifferent about the whole idea?🤔 I honestly used to despise them. They felt like stuffy glorified sales pitches, took up a decent chunk of otherwise productive time and didn't factor in any real relationship building. Which let's be real, that's how a lot of the sales industry works... That said, when you take out the stereotypical "salesy" behavior and instead start focusing on what the PEOPLE actually need to have successful businesses, you quickly realize that they are buying from you not because you're willing to cut the competition out at the ankles but because you are willing to make "it" happen. It could be a rush delivery to make up for an additional need, or expert advice on a product swap that cuts labor expenses, or maybe, it's just the fact that you talk to them like people instead of dollar signs and answer the phone when they call🤷♀️ When the focus switches to how you can mutually benefit eachother, you both make better relationships, better profits, and a Lunch & Learn starts feeling a lot more like a productive conversation rather than a sales pitch. And who doesn't want to pair that with a really freaking good sandwich?
