In 1995, Dr. Bob Nelson, a founding member of Recognition Professionals International, created Employee Appreciation Day to celebrate the publication of his book, '1,001 Ways to Reward Employees', and to serve as a reminder to employers to thank their employees for work well done. Dr Bob, through his research into organisational behaviour and the role that gratitude plays in fostering positive work relationships, has helped many companies develop a Culture of Recognition which has significant impacts on employee retention, performance, and the ability to attract talent. Employee Appreciation Day has since become an opportunity for managers, company leadership and HR to remember the importance of appreciating employees. Company's often celebrate the occasion by letting employees leave early, offering thoughtful gifts, or organising special events to be enjoyed together. Today, some of the foremost though leaders in the business sector consider such gestures of appreciation to be an integral part of building a strong and healthy corporate culture. So today, we'd like to wish everyone a Happy Employee Appreciation Day and hope that your teams feel fully appreciated, so that they can give their best and most productive efforts to your organisation ! #Celebration #EmployeeAppreciationDay #Teams #Workplace

The 3 R's of Employee Retention Respect: In the workplace, respect is essential. Respect recognizes each person's input, fosters open communication, and builds teamwork. Respecting employees lowers turnover and fosters a more engaging and productive work environment for all. Recognition: Appreciation has the power to increase employees drive. If they believed their employees was more appreciated, many employees would put in more effort. More engaged employees are happier ones. This kind of involvement fosters more creativity, improved problem solving, and teamwork. Reward: Incentives of all kinds, both material and immaterial, serve as spurs to motivation. A well-designed rewards programme can be used as a recruiting strategy to draw in top talent who is searching for organizations that recognize and pay their employees for their contributions. #respectatwork #teamwork #recognition #engagement #culture #appreciation #motivation #rewards #talent #retention #mondaymotivation #thoughts #mondaythoughts

Happy Employee Appreciation Day! It feels strange to have one day dedicated to recognising employees and, although it's a good opportunity to say thanks, shouldn't this happen all the time? All organisations need to have a culture of recognition; it increases employee engagement, retains talent and encourages higher performance. Sounds great, doesn't it? But it takes time to create. Here are some tips to create a culture of recognition: 1. Involve everyone, but start with buy-in from leadership. If employees don't see leaders practising what they preach, they won't fully embrace a new culture change. When leaders model recognition behaviours, employees will know it's integral to your organisation's values. 2. Make recognition timely and targeted. This demonstrates that you've paid real attention to the recipient's actions and makes the recipient more likely to view your recognition as genuine and meaningful. It also incentivises repeat behaviour, feeding into a cycle of recognition. 3. Personalise your recognition. Everyone likes to be recognised in different ways. So, provide multiple avenues of recognition, whether through pay, points-based rewards, or social recognition. Find ways that work best for your people. So, for Employee Appreciation Day, start creating a culture of recognition. That's the real goal. #EmployeeAppreciation #HR #InternalCommunications

Recently, I was reminded of the importance of creating an environment where employees feel valued. We all know that when people feel taken care of they are more productive, and it's something we should strive to create in every workplace. Recognition is a great way to show your employees that their hard work matters. Whether you choose to recognize them publicly or privately with small gestures, personalizing it to each individual is key. It shows that you really appreciate them and their contributions to the team. By building a culture of recognition, not only will employees feel more appreciated and committed, but also happier and motivated! 🌟 Take action now and start showing your employees how much they mean to you - because at the end of the day, employee satisfaction is essential for any successful business. #Leadership #Recognition #Culture https://lnkd.in/ghYEYzrG
