Gender-based violence is a tragic reality in every country in the world. This violence is frequently hidden, and victims are often silent, fearing stigma and further violence. ➡️ Find out more about #ThursdaysInBlack & how we supported the movement here: https://lnkd.in/dVgHXAWq
Gender-based violence is a tragic reality in every country in the world. However, it’s not always recognized. World Council of Churches’ campaign Thursdays in Black opposes all sexual and gender-based violence. This week the Thursdays in Black campaign was highlighted in the General Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland with an exhibition showing the Waterfall of Solidarity and Resistance tapestry, presenting posters and texts sent from different parts of the world. Exhibition was set up by Finn Church Aid and it can be shown in parishes around Finland. We all have a responsibility to speak out against violence. Thus, the Archbishop of Turku and Finland Tapio Luoma, who is an ambassador of the Thursdays in Black campaign, and Finn Church Aid encourage all parishes, and everyone to participate in the campaign and act to identify and prevent gender-based violence. #thursdaysinblack #genderbasedviolence Kirkko Helsingissä - Helsingin seurakuntayhtymä Espoon seurakunnat | Esbo församlingar Kirkko Vantaalla - Vantaan seurakuntayhtymä Tampereen ev.lut. seurakunnat Turun ja Kaarinan seurakuntayhtymä Kirkko Oulussa - Oulun seurakuntayhtymä
