Major fines could be coming for communication monitoring failures 👩⚖️ Stacey English, Director or Regulatory Intelligence at Theta Lake, recently spoke to FinTech Global about the biggest trends set to dominate the RegTech sector this year. “One trend that will stand out will be the unrelenting focus on communication compliance and recordkeeping. We have already seen over $2.6bn in fines for the use of unmonitored communication channels and there is no doubt that will continue this year. “From independent research we have undertaken, we know that 74% of firms still think they have unmonitored channels in use, so we can expect further enforcement for those firms around the world that haven’t addressed the issues. “What we have heard from regulators is that the penalties will be much higher because firms are essentially on notice and there really isn’t an excuse now.” Watch the video for more insights from Stacey English. #RegTech #FinTech #RegTechTrends
