🚀 Exciting News! 🚀 I am thrilled to share that I was recently quoted in the groundbreaking "Building a More Equitable Web3" report by the Crypto Council for Innovation (CCI)! This comprehensive report is a significant milestone in our journey towards a more inclusive and diverse Web3 ecosystem. The report highlights the experiences of underrepresented builders, particularly Black and Latino entrepreneurs, who are driving innovation despite facing significant barriers to access and resources. Key Insights 1. Underrepresented builders are driving blockchain innovation in the US but face access challenges similar to those in traditional industries. 2. These builders are crucial in key growth areas of Web3, bringing diverse experiences and market opportunities. Web3 still suffers from structural issues like limited access to capital and social networks. 3. The lack of regulatory clarity in Web3 exacerbates the difficulties for historically underrepresented builders. 4. Complying with regulations requires significant resources, which these builders often lack. 5. Despite these challenges, Web3's inherent strengths offer a path toward a more equitable ecosystem. 6. Core Web3 principles like public good and open source can help address unequal access to opportunities. 7. Innovative capital allocation and community-building efforts are creating more democratic opportunities in Web3. 8. Urgent action is needed to avoid repeating the poor outcomes seen in legacy tech and finance sectors. 9. Thoughtful policy and industry practices can enhance innovation, prevent capital and talent loss, and support inclusive participation in Web3. My Contribution. Yesterday, I attended an impactful web3 webinar hosted by WomenInDeFi titled 'The Importance of Collaboration Among Women in the Web3 Space." The session was truly insightful and value-packed. Here are a few key takeaway points 💫: - The first step in the web3 space is learning. 👍 As the web3 ecosystem begins to grow, global adoption starts with collective effort and collaboration. - Competence is one of the ideas that prevent people from taking you for granted. - People will definitely look down on you until you prove excellence in what you do. - If it doesn't work, don't rest. Just persevere! - Networking is important in the web3 space. 💫 If you don't know anybody, you're three steps away from people who can help you if you have a problem. - Be honest with yourself. 👍Approach your collaborator with value exchange. 💫Nobody wants to associate with mediocrity. - There's a lot you can do in the web3 space aside from trading. 👍Be proactive 💫Embrace all the opportunities in the web3 space. - Seeking a mentor is essential. 👍There's no need to go through difficult steps when you have people who can help you. 💫 There's no award for suffering silently. - You can work yourself out building and still be kept asva secret if you don't show yourself. 👍Show your work.Let people know you for what you do.
