JP Morgan Chase just announced record profits. 🥱🥱 Boring 🥱🥱 They not only did it without LAYOFFS they hired new employees while many competitors laid off (e.g., 7% YoY for engineers / Wells Fargo lost engineers -0.5%YoY) 🥳🥳 Well Done! 🥳🥳 It gets better. JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon in a recent interview, stated they are prioritizing skills-based hiring, expanding talent pools and opening up opportunities to people without college degrees and large gaps in work history. Hats off to the leaders challenging old stereotypes of how our workforce systems must work, particularly those impacting the humans behind the work. 🧡 Shifting hiring practices to focus on skills and aptitude rather than experience or college degrees 🧡 Investing in your talent pool when others are laying off 🧡 Funding significantly in racial equity initiatives as compared to companies of similar size (30x) Good Leadership does exist. 😍

Micro cap are in a recessionary mode and the whole economy has been supported by MNC mega cap. The US economy is a two-tier economy at this point. Moreover, fiscal policy is expansionary while monetary policy is contractionary. Monetary policy dictates the short term economic activities while fiscal policy with investment on infrastructure will have a long run impact on the economy. These are potential sources for the leading indicator to be recessionary while stock market reaches ATH. Well, among factor models, one and the only momentum factor works! Because I use another Goldman Sachs consumer product and have found the product ~ hard to use (glaringly hard to use during my recent 2 months out of the US) ~ short on high quality customer service - the customer service agents aren't the problem, the problems amounts to policies & customer service training. ~ user unfriendly. I can almost feel how extremely uncomfortable a fit it is for the Goldman Sachs brand. I expected to learn more about why Goldman Sachs, the business, is struggling with what you might call a pivot to traditional banking, or a new line of business for them. Instead, for me the story is too long on details I don't find helpful. Anyone know of a better story on the same topic? Thanks #goldmansachs
