First Ladies Health Initative’s Post

Colon cancer is one of the most common cancers and the 2nd leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. It's especially important for African Americans and Hispanics, who are more likely to be diagnosed at advanced stages. The good news is that it's treatable if caught early! During National Black Cancer Awareness Week, the First Ladies Health Initiative teamed up with First Lady Kyra Clopton and Cosmopolitan Community Church to spread awareness about the importance of early detection. We distributed educational materials and even had giveaways for those who took our colon cancer survey. Let’s work together to catch it early and save lives!
