This isn’t something we usually post, but let's talk about something equally important to our conservation work — team building! ✨ In the grand scheme of NGOs, our organization, the Fisheries Resource Center of Indonesia (FRCI), is relatively young, having only been established in 2018. Since then, our team has grown massively, now composed of incredibly talented individuals united by a common goal, with each member bringing their unique skills and perspectives to the table. But even the most talented teams need to take time to strengthen their bonds to reach their full potential. So this week, we took a break from our usual routine, ditched our laptops and headed out into the field! (Actually, no. None of us ditched our laptops. The laptops are our fifth limb at this point.) Team building isn't just a fun break from work — it’s a critical investment in our ability to collaborate effectively. A cohesive team is more efficient, resilient, creative, and capable of tackling the unexpected challenges that come our way. Furthermore, let’s not forget that while our work is important to create a sustainable ocean, but so is taking care of the people who carry it out. Stepping away from the desk and into nature allowed us to recharge our minds, refresh our spirits, and strengthen our connections! And sometimes, the best way to forge that connection is through shared experiences, team building activities, and maybe even getting a little lost in a leek farm 😉 Also, happy independence day, Indonesia! 🇮🇩 #team #teamwork #teambuilding #collaboration #organization #organisation #conservation #employeeengagement #teamengagement #NGO #NGOs #environment #nature

To give Indonesian Independence Day a meaningful moment, we can start calculating the carbon emissions we produce from our daily office activities. We may not realize it, but many daily office activities play a role in producing carbon emissions. These activities vary from • using private vehicles to travel, which is equivalent to 16.64 kg of CO2 for 64 km, • to overcharging a laptop, which is equivalent to 186.84 kg of CO2 for 3 hours. Each of these actions adds to our carbon footprint and impacts the environment. This is not just happen only in office activities, but also in our daily life. According to data from united states environmental protection agency, using a private vehicle emits approximately 400 grams of CO2 per mile, and this shows how our everyday actions significantly contribute to our overall carbon footprint. That is why, in the spirit of Independence Day, Jejakin encourages you to pay attention to your office habits. Small changes, such as using public transportation and avoiding overcharging your laptop, can make a difference. Interested in making a positive impact? Calculate your carbon footprint now at event.jejakin.app 🌍💚 #JejakDenganBijak

🌋 Exploring Indonesia: A Journey of Teamwork and Growth 🌄 I recently organized an unforgettable trip to Indonesia, visiting the breathtaking Mount Bromo, Mount Ijen, Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, and Madakaripura Waterfall. Our group of 11 ranging from 25+ to above 70 years old, coming from diverse background-originated from various states, business sectors, employed vs. self-employed, met together for our first time for this journey. The trip offered more than just stunning views of volcanoes, sunrises, and waterfalls. It taught me invaluable lessons about organizing, managing, and leading a diverse group: ⭐️Acceptance and Forgiveness: Embrace people for who they are, regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs. Differences in behavior and thought can be resolved through understanding and patience. ⭐️Care and Compassion: Even as strangers, we cared for each other like family. Sharing personal belongings and offering support without expecting anything in return was a testament to our bond. ⭐️No Complaints: Despite waking up at midnight, enduring long travel hours in a HIACE van, and braving the cold (10-15°C) for sunrise, everyone remained positive and enjoyed the "torturous" journey. ⭐️Teamwork: Experienced hikers guided and encouraged newcomers, while younger members supported the elderly without hesitation. This spirit of teamwork was truly inspiring. ⭐️Positive Vibes: Surround yourself with positivity, and you'll attract the same energy. Focus on aligning yourself rather than trying to change others. I feel blessed to have shared this experience with such amazing people and to have had perfect weather. Our trip was perfectly timed. We were fortunate that we were back safely - was not caught in rain or and affected by earthquake at Mount Ijen, which happened as soon as we returned home. "Erica, what's next?" Thank you, team, for trusting me. Stay tuned for the next adventure! #Leadership #Teamwork #OrganizationalSkills #GroupTravel #TravelInspiration #worklifebalance

This year, I had the exciting opportunity to engage with the vibrant Community of Practice (COP) within MRT Jakarta's station department. But before we dive into the specifics, let's clarify: what exactly is a COP? Think of a COP as a collaborative hub. It brings together individuals across departments and roles, fostering knowledge exchange and best practices. For the first COP session, our focus was on the crucial "MANCARLI" strategy - ensuring Safe (Aman), Smooth (Lancar), and Controlled (Terkendali) operations during the upcoming Pemilu 2024 elections. Last week, we had the chance to have an amazing session with the Security Department, a Subject Matter Expert from the National Police, and last but not least is Security Champion from the Station Department. The energy in the room was palpable. Each speaker and participant brimming with experience and insights, actively engaged in a rich exchange of knowledge and best practices. We delved into potential challenges and collectively strategized mitigation measures. Yet we also managed to insert music performances and have quiz sessions to get the excitement of offline and online participants getting chances to bring home vouchers. So, why is a COP like this so valuable? Consider this: 1. Sharing the Secrets: COPs become knowledge treasure troves. Cross-department, brimming with experience, shared insights on potential challenges from managing increased passenger flow to security coordination. This cross-pollination of ideas helped us craft effective mitigation strategies. 2. United We Stand: COPs offer a powerful platform for collaborative problem-solving. Diverse perspectives were brought together, allowing us to collectively identify potential disruptions and brainstorm solutions. This ensures comprehensive and well-rounded approaches to tackling complex challenges. 3. Continuous Improvement: COPs foster a culture of learning and growth. By regularly sharing experiences and successes, we can identify areas for improvement and implement changes. This iterative process ensures our operations are constantly evolving and adapting. 4. Unlocking Employee Potential: COPs empower the team by giving them a voice and a platform to contribute. This sense of ownership and involvement boosts morale and engagement, leading to a more motivated and productive workforce. Now, back to "MANCARLI" and Pemilu 2024! By leveraging the collective knowledge and experience shared through the COP, the station department is well-equipped to navigate the upcoming elections with confidence. Commuter safety and smooth travel remain top priorities, and the collaborative strategies developed will be instrumental in achieving just that. #MRTJakarta #UbahJakarta Check my tips for job seeker https://lnkd.in/gyv5PVtz How i got accepted by MRT Jakarta https://lnkd.in/gqktuED5 Get connected and like my post if it brings you more insight or inspiration. Thanks everyone 😊
