Social connections are essential for our health and well-being. Loneliness and isolation can increase the risk of heart disease, dementia, and depression. This Men’s Health Month, let’s prioritize the social connections. A simple phone call, sharing a meal, or volunteering in your community can make a big difference. Think about the men in your life—your friends, family, and colleagues. Reach out to them, check in, and make plans to connect. These small gestures can have a profound impact on their mental and emotional well-being. Building and maintaining social connections isn’t just about preventing loneliness; it’s about fostering a sense of belonging and support. When we engage with others, we create a network of care that helps us navigate life's challenges together. So, this month, let's commit to strengthening our social bonds. Not only will it benefit those we connect with, but it will also enhance our own health and happiness. Together, we can create a supportive community where everyone thrives. #SocialConnection #LonelinessAwareness #StayConnected #MensHealthMonth #HealthyLiving #WellnessJourney #SupportMen

Self-care is not an indulgence, it’s vital for your health and wellbeing. Self-care means identifying and meeting your own needs, which is something that most women struggle with. Women often feel obligated to be caretakers, which can lead them to put everyone else’s needs — those of children, spouse, parents, friends and even pets - before their own. Self-care simply means you’re taking time to prioritize yourself. If you don’t properly care for yourself, your body may let you down... When we practice genuine self-care, we get the opportunity to understand ourselves better, recharge our batteries before they're empty, and maintain the ability to make a difference for our loved ones and communities. When did you last unplug yourself? 🤎 Sit down, take a walk, have a cup of tea, shout yourself a coffee at the local cafe, ring a friend, join an exercise class, volunteer or participate in a local social group. . . . #selfcare #womenswellbeing #womenshealth #practiceselflove

There are so many people affected by loneliness, and sometimes it's the people you would least expect. It can have an impact on people at any age and if we're honest, we've all felt lonely at some point in our lives. But it often affects many in later life who are vulnerable and it's important to understand, creating a supportive community through open and honest conversations. Each June, millions of people from every part of society take part in Loneliness Awareness Week across the UK and globally. There are coffee mornings and book clubs, walking clubs and art workshops, designated chatty tables in cafes and pubs, businesses putting loneliness on their meeting agenda, and radio stations talking openly about loneliness. And at SOLLA we want to be a part of it, raising awareness so that we can all make a difference, however small it may be, for someone who might be feeling lonely. Find out more here and see how you can get involved. https://lnkd.in/eG4c252T We continue to offer free training on supporting vulnerable clients and the ways you can provide extra care and support. https://lnkd.in/d63AJhN #LonelinessAwarenessWeek #RandomActsOfConnection #BetterConversations #SocialResponsibility #LaterLifeAdvice #Vulnerability #MakingADifference #theSOLLAdifference

“I don’t have time” Managing work, business, family life, and personal life is a lot. And it’s easy to let your own health take the back burner when you are pouring so much into those other areas. But as we all know, you can’t pour from an empty cup. The funny thing is prioritizing your own health and wellness, allows you to have more energy for your family, be more focused and productive at work, and get more out of every area of life. You just need to prioritize your time. Maybe that’s a couple 45 min workouts a week. Maybe that’s a daily walk. Maybe that’s doing family workouts or activities. Maybe it’s a quick 10-20 min workout on your lunch breaks. There’s always a way that can fit into your busy life. It doesn’t need to look like spending 1-2 hours in the gym daily. You just need to have the proper structure. … P.S. Have you joined my free community here on LinkedIn yet? You get access to bonus resources, challenges, 1:1 calls, and like minded people on the same journey as you Click the link in my bio to join 💪🏼

Choose the right ones. When it comes to self care, another way to promote it is to hang around the right people. Let's be real, not everyone is going to support us affirm us, help us, speak well over us. Truth be told, they are not taking care of themselves. If they are not taking care of themselves nor have any concept of self-care, what makes us think they are going to help us? We have to meticulously choose the people we want in our life who are authentic, talk up, help us do the work, hold us accountable, encourage us and more. This is the season where we can no longer support dysfunction and destruction. Sound the alarm and uphold the standard of health, wholeness, and righteousness in our lives. We are never defeated in this season because we are going to take action and ensure the right people are with us in the same endeavor in both word and deed. GET TO WORK! #selfcare #hangwiththerightpeople #neverdefeated #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth
