Sign us up for the Ally Pally... Well not quite, but it was great to be a winner alongside Richard Stoddart at the Manchester darts championship. Of course I'm exaggerating. It was a healthy competition between friends and colleagues at the very new Black Cat Club (highly recommend) after a long day our Redmoor Health exec team had together in the city. I've known and worked with Richard for yonks and of course we made a great team 😁 We also play golf together, joined by Marc Schmid. In my case I use the term 'play golf' very loosely 😂 But why is it important to socialise with colleagues? 😊 enhances teamwork, if we feel connected to our colleagues we're more cooperative and collaborative which can lead to us being more effective and efficient 😎 it breaks down formal barriers and gives us a more relaxed environment to communicate more openly. 😊 it helps to build a network of supportive colleagues 🤔 it's an opportunity to share ideas and thoughts that might not be discussed in formal meetings or a business environment, helping us all to be more innovative 😊 it can make the workplace more enjoyable, meaning we're more likely to feel engaged and positive about our role 😊 you can make new friends for life - plenty of my ex-colleagues are full-time friends A positive culture at an organisation is crucial. Many people spend more time with colleagues than anyone else, often under pressure and in stressful situations. We work hard at Redmoor for colleagues to feel included, supported and valued by each other and that's a key part of our recruitment too, choosing people that fit with our values and ethos, that want to be part of our journey. I don't think we'll be getting a call to join the world darts champion but a win's a win and we have the evidence, so me and Richard are taking it 🎉 #teamwork #darts #manchester #primarycare Matt Murphy Dan Hodges Kieran Waterston Helen Holmes-Fogg Lisa Drake Lisa Williamson Matt Sweeney

We've had around 1,000 people download our jump.global unofficial awards week guide and 2,000 people RSVP to our NO EGO party (wow). The team worked really hard on these so to see them be received by our friends and the industry at large is really cool. We also sent out this note yesterday to remember as we go into the week... "We are human first. There will be things going on every second of the day so that means lots of fun ... but also lots of chaos. It's OK if you are feeling overwhelmed, especially for a week as important to our industry as this one. Remember that your worth is not dictated by the events you were or weren't invited to and you are more than your job title. Make new friends, lead with empathy, get some rest, and drink lots of water. See you soon, team jump.global PS – try to introduce yourself at parties by your first and last name rather than leading with the company you work for. Let's go into 2024 with more personal equity. It's fun :)"

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the #AMAwards this evening. Good luck to everyone nominated, and if you’re keen to discuss all things #carwow #stocksourcing, #qualifiedleads #newcarleads, #usedcarleads, or equally you just want a blether and a drink- whether it’s a green tea or something a bit more punchy…come find me at table 47 far left against the wall. I’m with the lovely people from #CapHpi!(thank you) #Inchcape, #Lloydsgroup #Vertu and industry expert/guru and all round great guy - Cliff Deller-Consultant at Orchid Automotive Limited It’s a day, maybe two, for some out of the office to go to these types of events, and certainly not everyone’s bag- but it’s important to celebrate success and congratulate the best in the industry. Mingle, share ideas, and share intros to your connections for future collaborations …but let’s not forget it can be an opportunity for some much needed relaxation and a rare chance to unwind. In the motor trade, it’s early starts and late nights, we put our body on the line for our companies, constantly pursuing improvement, chasing deadlines and seemingly impossible targets, stressing a lot, and often sweating the small stuff- it’s easy to get caught up in it- EVERTHING is urgent- but sometimes we need to take a step back and a deep breath. It’s an incredibly fast paced industry that attracts winners, mastery is super important to them, people that naturally put that pressure on themselves to always perform and be the very best. It’s probably why it’s littered with ex pro athletes for example. I love this quote- it’s hung up in the office in my house. Hopefully it resonates, and makes an impression with some of you. Whether your at the awards or in the office- have a fabulous day!

Conference Host, Speaker and Moderator. 3 X Hall of Fame Inductee Host of Chatter that Matters Podcast / Founding Partner Chatter AI
Meaningful work is the essence of our industry. It means it matters. It is significant, relevant, material, telling, weighty, and worthwhile. It makes the audience think, feel, and act. It drives market share and feeds the salaries of the brand's employees and everyone within the supply chain. The opposite is inconsequential. It doesn't matter. For over a decade, even longer, I have challenged the advertising agency's obsession with chasing glass. Here is an article from 2014, as I am leaving the advertising world, with a call out to clients and advertisers. https://lnkd.in/d8n9Y8vY I have always said that this sector would be revered if even half the time and money their internal teams invested in competing for the thousands of gold awards were diverted to solving society's biggest problems. They would have clients banging on the door and looking for real solutions. Many associations and magazines depend on profits from awards shows, but a healthier industry would lead to healthier businesses. In my upcoming interview with Frank Palmer for the American Marketing Association (AMA), Toronto, he voiced a similar sentiment. in a few seconds, Zulu Alpha Kilo Inc., in this brilliant parody, said what I had felt for years. Enough is enough. Please take a look at this fantastic ad and share it. Now, let's get the top minds of their agencies focused on affordable housing, the growing social divide, keeping young males in schools, donating organs, eliminating food waste, and so much more. Those working on these initiatives will feel much better by improving our world. The owners of agencies can move the millions they spend into hiring and training staff. And for the brilliant creative talent in Canada, is this not the purposeful work you got into the industry for, the work that truly matters? Celebrating Achievements on LinkedIn: January A Month of Collective Success Stories Did anyone else notice on LinkedIn that January was a month of a true testament to the spirit of unity and celebration? It was genuinely inspiring to witness so many peers and connections honor their previous year’s achievements. This period reminded us of the essence of moving forward, leaving behind negativity to embrace life’s fullness. It was about coming together to acknowledge our collective hard work and dedication. The atmosphere was reminiscent of the times when anticipation for president’s club awards and trips filled the air. The rewards were extravagant and varied, from luxury watches and cars to all-expenses-paid vacations. These tokens of appreciation weren’t just for the individual but extended to their peers and loved ones, enhancing the sense of community and shared success. Company trips varied in scale, some accommodating hundreds, while others were intimate gatherings of a president’s club of five. But regardless of the size, the underlying message was clear – let’s continue to celebrate our achievements, both big and small. Such moments strengthen our bonds and renew our commitment to excellence. Hard Work Works! #UnityInSuccess #CelebratingAchievements #PresidentsClubMemories #MDPen #LinkedIn #Calibration #TogetherWeGrow

Incredibly shocked and taken aback to learn today that I have been shortlisted for "Newcomer of the Year" in the #CIRAwards. Not only have I been shortlisted, but so has the team at Virgin Atlantic in the space of "Testing & Exercising". This, latterly, is a huge testament to the work we've put in over the course of the last 12 months, especially Harry Conibear-Griffiths who has spearheaded a monumental campaign to ensure we are as resilient as we can be. Wishing all those shortlisted the best of luck! #crisismanagement #emergencyresponse #businesscontinuity #businessresilience CIRMagazine

Be the little guy. Be the big guy. In Richard Branson's book 'The Virgin Way' he recounts the advantage Virgin Airways had against British Airways in the early days as they were never taken seriously by the bigger airline. Branson goes on to tell another story of how they took on Coke with Virgin Cola by acting big with over the top promotional stunts and marketing campaigns. This strategy backfired as Coke reacted by pulling out the big guns and locking down distributors to stifle Vigin Cola's expansion at source. Running my sports education company in Colombia I found that many times it was advantageous to "act small" and other times when acting bigger than we were or leveraging the traction we had in a market was the best play in negotiations or when breaking into a new territory. In marketing timing is so important and knowing when to act big or act small is an art in itself. ♻️ If you think this post could help someone in your network please give it a share. 👋 Hi there, my name is Ben - I post about customer focused, purpose led marketing strategy. ➡️ Follow to stay connected.
