When and how to involve local marketing teams in the glocal creative process... 1. During brief creation by... encouraging open dialogue to ensure all ideas and concerns are heard and considered. 2. As the campaign is being developed and refined by... providing local teams with drafts of the creative for review and input. 3. Just before the campaign is finalised for launch by... making any necessary adjustments based on local team feedback before rolling out the campaign more widely. 4. Post launch by... conducting a debrief with local teams to discuss what worked, what didn’t, and what can be improved for future campaigns. Working strategists are a rare breed. If you're lucky, they'd account for 5% of a mature advertising agency. I'd guess that there would be a ratio of 5 creatives to each strategist. And both groups feel under pressure right now. So, for the creatives who want to be more strategic, see if you can apply the points from the carousel: 1. People–bring their attitudes and behaviors into your ideas. 2. Problems–try to solve issues of perception (although, having said that, I realize this is a bias I have and you can build campaigns in other ways). 3. Strategy as ideas–don't fight this idea but understand what ideas are and that there are different kinds of idea. 4. Evidence–use research to stimulate your ideas. 5. Rationale–use the above to argue for your ideas so you don't just imply, "Well, this seems like a cool thing to do." My favorite creative partners were always strategic. They'd teach me how to think. 📊 Evaluate, Refine, Repeat Even the best campaigns can benefit from a few tweaks along the way. Measuring results against your initial objectives helps identify what’s working and what isn’t. Be prepared to adjust tactics and messaging to keep improving outcomes. 👉 Tip: Set up a quarterly review meeting with all stakeholders, including your creative agency, to discuss progress and adapt strategies based on the latest insights.

WORDS THAT #ADVERTISING HAS TAUGHT ME NEW MEANINGS FOR - #4 Word: Proactive Stress level: High Advertising is a service. Any service is more differentiated, desirable and delightful when it is offered even before it was asked for. So in order for an agency to remain preferred, one would expect that proactive would be the ho-hum, business-as-usual, par-for-the-course mode in agency-client relationships. Instead, why does proactive become an active part of vocabulary only seasonally? Simply because it means something else to us. Work done proactively, meaning without a client, a brief or a client brief, is work that agency folk spontaneously create with the sole purpose of personal glory. Creatives proactively create ‘proactive work’, the agency proactively enters the work, the jury proactively awards the work, and someone from another agency proactively offers the creative person responsible a job at twice their CTC. While the client reacts. Violently. To missed deadlines. On briefs they actually gave the agency. Example: Sorry Ashwin, haven’t yet had time to react to that brief. Been busy with proactive.
