Clean and Competitive: A Blueprint for B.C.’s Industrial Future lays out the Province’s work to drive new investment, create new jobs and seize new opportunities in growing clean energy and sustainable industries. Leveraging B.C.’s strengths to create good jobs and opportunities in every community will improve quality of life, while strengthening B.C.’s diverse economy today and for future generations.

B.C.’s economic resilience will be built on continuing to leverage the province’s strengths in eight sectors: Advanced Manufacturing, Agritech, Critical Minerals, Digital Economy, Forestry, Life Sciences, Biofuels and Hydrogen.

IF Ireland delivers on EU climate targets and gets to Eu-levels of infrastructure (housing and other infrastructure) it adds €30bn a year runrate to an economy. Which is two regions worth of economy added each year. The biggest beneficiaries could be the regions with the highest youth unemployment today, and the infrastructure led polices could herald to e biggest self-fueled growth of a generation in regions. Contrary to the false narrative climate action is bad, for a young country and young generation, it’s delivery could unlock the highest growth in the EU (8% p.a), lowest inflation, high youth ownership on low emissions. Delivery is a big IF requiring governance, leadership & ethics but if we want to be a great country for young, it’s possible to deliver it with communities, for the betterment of the many in communities, as a better climate on low carbon economy is now the opportunity & purpose of a generation to deliver.

The life cycle of carbon credits encompasses project identification, validation, implementation, monitoring, verification, issuance, trading, and retirement. From initiating projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions to verifying their impact through independent audits, each stage plays a crucial role in ensuring transparency and credibility in the carbon offset market. Carbon credits, representing emissions reductions or removals, are traded to help companies and individuals offset their carbon footprint and contribute to global sustainability goals. Maintaining adherence to recognised standards and continuous impact assessments are essential for fostering trust and effectiveness in the carbon offset market. 🔰 Here's an overview of the life cycle of a carbon credit and the limitations experience at every stage.

Winding down #WBGMeetings on a high note, as the World Bank’s #Clean Air Through Greening Residential Heating Program in #Poland becomes effective. The operation will help the Clean Air Priority Program (CAPP)—Europe’s largest anti-smog effort—achieve its ambitious goal of replacing solid fuel boilers and supporting thermal renovation in three million single-family buildings. Our team brings global expertise to overcome bottlenecks in program governance and administration, strengthen policy and regulatory frameworks, attract private sector and development funding, and ensure the inclusion of vulnerable groups. This operation builds on years of the Bank’s advisory support, which has refined elements of the program and facilitated its launch. In 2022-2023, the World Bank team helped the program hear beneficiary voices, resulting in better outreach to vulnerable groups, simpler procedures, and enhanced financial support. By February of this year, CAPP had received 790,102 applications, of which 40% came from low-income families. We are delighted to up our engagement, help course-correct where necessary, and eventually deliver strong results cleaner air, healthier communities, and a powerful example of global decarbonization effort.
