Are you thinking that you would be able to work in the UK on a Visitor/Tourist Visa? Hahaha Funny…… (that way half of the World would be in the UK) Do not believe to any Rumour or any Youtube Thumbnail or anyone who is not a UK-based Immigration Lawyer, Solicitor or Barrister. Understand this first👇 Chancellor Jeremy Hunt recently announced plans to broaden the scope of activities permitted for business visitors, a policy slated to commence in January 2024. This initiative aims at offering business professionals more leeway with the types of engagements and paid work they can undertake while visiting. Starting from this month, the government is set to explore further adjustments regarding rules for those traveling on business. As part of this first wave of changes outlined in a recent Statement of Changes to the Immigration Rules, there will be increased flexibility for permissible actions during visits. However, these modifications do not extend to allowing remote work in the UK without an appropriate visa. Currently accepted practices include participating in events such as conferences or meetings and managing correspondence with one's overseas employer—for instance, checking emails from within your temporary accommodations. But if you intend to engage remotely in professional tasks within UK borders full-time, you must secure proper authorisation through visas like the Innovative Founder or Skilled Worker Visa. https://lnkd.in/eQSefQn6

UK visitor visas are changing... As of 31st January 2024: - Visitors can engage in intra-corporate activities with clients, given it is incidental to their foreign employment and not project offshoring. - Remote work is allowed during the UK visit (but it should not be the primary purpose). - Scientists, researchers, and academics can now conduct research in the UK during their visit. - Legal professionals' permitted activities are expanded, including arbitration, advocacy, and transactional legal services. - Conference speakers can be paid, incorporated into the Permitted Paid Engagements list. - PPE Visitor route provisions are moved to the Standard Visitor route, allowing all visitors PPE without a different visa, but it must be arranged before travel and done within 30 days of arrival. If you would like to discuss these changes in further detail, please contact me at katherine@mirkwoodevansvincent.com #VisitorVisa #UK #RemoteWorking
