We are pleased to announce that, effective January 1st, 2025, Resonac will integrate the Energy Storage Materials and Tribology (ESTM) business line, currently part of the Mobility Division, into the RESONAC - Graphite Business Unit. ESTM is responsible for the production and commercialization of Battery Anode Materials (BAM) for electric vehicles (EV). The unification of both businesses will enable us to create significant synergies by gathering together all expertise related to graphite. It will also provide us with greater operational flexibility and open up the potential to utilize a portion of our existing graphitization capacity, currently dedicated to electrodes, for the development of products related to sustainable mobility. Our CEO and President of RGBU, CESAR CASTIÑEIRA DIAZ, will continue leading this new stage, during which we will work towards the establishment of a graphite HUB that will not only strengthen our leadership in the market but also enable us to expand our presence in the EV sector. We firmly believe that, to foster a sustainable future, it is essential to promote an organization that is self-sustainable, prioritizing quality, safeguarding the environment and generating long-term value for people and communities. BAM (Battery Anode Material) is a key product for enhancing battery fast-charging and lifetime. While the graphite represents only 10% of the total battery cost, it is the largest contributor to the CO2 footprint at approximately 50%. 🚀 The #ORIONe #project has successfully concluded! 🚀 This exciting project, funded by Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades and European Union through the #NextGenerationEU program, focused on developing #hydrogen #burner concepts for #gas #turbine applications. 🎯 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀: The main objective of the #ORIONe program was to develop a secondary fuel injection system that can be used to 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗿𝗮-𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗡𝗢𝘅 𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 in swirl-stabilized aeronautical burners operated with hydrogen/air in lean burn conditions. To achieve this challenging target the following specific objectives were defined: O1. Identification of the operational envelope of a baseline lean swirl burn concept. O2. Developing a technological solution for the introduction of the secondary fuel injection based upon NOx formation, LBO limits and flashback resistance. O3. Scaling up the concept towards gas turbine engine conditions. 🤝 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺: Big shoutout to the top-skilled CMT–Clean Mobility & Thermofluids (UPV) research group for their inspiring commitment and their amazing contribution to the project's success: Jose María Desantes Fernández Ricardo Novella (me) José M. Garcia-Oliver Jose Manuel Pastor Marcos Carreres Talens Josep Gómez Soriano At CMT–Clean Mobility & Thermofluids (UPV), we conducted a detailed experimental characterization of these advanced burner concepts in our atmospheric testing facility. A top-quality experimental database was generated by evaluating the operational map, flame radiation characteristics, and pollutant emissions. This information was then shared with our partner, Barcelona Supercomputing Center, to refine high-fidelity computational models that will contribute to the design of even better gas turbine engines. Ohmium International, a leader in #greenhydrogen solutions, has officially inaugurated its latest #gigafactory in Doddaballapura, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, #India. This state-of-the-art facility spans nearly 14,000 square meters and is designed to produce 2 gigawatts (GW) of fully assembled and tested Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) #electrolyzer systems annually, catering to the growing demands of Ohmium’s global projects.
