Another completed project for McDonalds Restaurants, this time at Weston Favell. The drive-thru was refurbished throughout with new HVAC, lighting, finishes and fixtures within the restaurant, customer toilets and staff rooms. We were on site for only 6 weeks when we also upgraded the external façade, installed a new roof and improved hard landscaping. We're delighted with the result and glad that the customer is too. Well done to the whole project team. #mcdonaldsrestaurants #restaurantfitout #teamwork

Schools need more space, and fast. But, the funds (and time) to build new dining halls and similar extensions isn't readily available. What's the answer? Many schools are turning to dining canopies, enclosed all-weather spaces which offer the benefits of a new building without the months-long build time and eye-watering price tag. Spaceshade dining canopies are high-quality, long lasting structures designed to deliver long term value for your school. With the option to install lighting, heating and even solar panels to help your school's running costs, find out more about the pros and cons in our blog. https://lnkd.in/eczpsuVv #primaryeducation #secondaryeducation

My colleague, Scot Morris, shared valuable insights on the inefficiencies of using round tables in cafeteria/multipurpose rooms. Schools often stick to traditional setups without considering the drawbacks. Here's a summary of the key points for consideration: - Round tables are space-inefficient, with only the edges being utilized, wasting valuable square footage. - While suitable for dining, round tables lack adaptability for other functions, leaving 85% of the day's time unaddressed. - They contribute to noise levels, limiting interactions to neighboring individuals and creating a chaotic environment. It's essential to rethink the layout of these versatile spaces to optimize their use within school buildings. Have you experienced similar challenges in your educational facilities? Let's continue the conversation on efficient room utilization. #cafeteriaspace#schooldesign#spaceplanning

I'll start this post with my greatest restaurant pet peeve. Restaurants that put tables next to the server station -where you sit next to the trash bin and the computer and the bus tub and the staff chat. And you watch the server scrap a plate, wipe your neighbors food on her pants, then grab your beverage by the rim. NO ONE WANTS TO SEE HOW THE SAUSAGE IS MADE. Not in hospitality, EVER. Which begs the question, if you're not McDonalds, why would an owner chose capacity and revenue over the guest experience? Call it a crazy obsession with putting the guest first, but I am constantly asked why am I changing some of our accommodations at the Fields when we sell them out. Because they're not great. And I know it. We have 9 sites that during the evening get the most spectacular star and moon shows but during the day get pounded by the heat of the summer sun and I think guests deserve to be more comfortable. Do you know that saying that when you know better you're to do better? Never ever did I approach the Fields with the mentality of how can I squeeze more into the space at the expense of the guests experience. So we're making a huge investment with the best architectural firm and the best interior designer to improve our product so that I can sleep at night knowing that I practice what I preach. #hospitality #guestexperience #thefieldway

If your property is home to a restaurant or bar, you may already have developed patio seating in order to expand capacity for more patrons. Enclosing that area and topping it with a retractable roof can convert that seasonal space to year-round use while retaining the benefits of fresh air and sunlight when Mother Nature cooperates. There is also something special about dining or gathering on a rooftop deck. A retractable roof access unit can take that experience to the next level. In many cases, a retractable roof access unit also simplifies the permitting process because it can be designed to have a much lower profile than other options. Of course, the greatest flexibility comes when designing a retractable roof for a commercial property from the beginning! #roofdesign #rooftopdeck #restaurantdesign #retractableroof

Do I need planning permission for a dining canopy? it's a good question. And like a lot of questions, there's not exactly a straightforward answer. It all depends on the size - and location - and design of your canopy whether you'll need to apply for planning permission or not. And there's building regulations to consider as well. We've explained everything you need to know in this blog. But if you've got any questions, please DM me and I'd be very happy to help. #secondaryeducation https://lnkd.in/eBaSXiAW
