Ofsted rated 'Good' Great Wyrley Academy is a high-performing academy which is part of Windsor Academy Trust. In order to increase pupil capacity, they installed a new dining canopy in a sheltered courtyard. Connected by a small walkway link to the existing building, the new space provides an extra dining and socialising area for students to connect and enjoy being outdoors. A great way to keep the ugly but necessary items (bins, recycling, bikes etc) neat but also secure. Providing secure outside bike storage is a big win for residents, encouraging them to cycle more often. Result: more vehicles off the roads and healthier lifestyles.

All bin and bicycle stores now in place at the Lawrence Weston housing project in Avonmouth. With a timber frame and tough lockable container, the stores provide a secure area to store bikes and other large valuables, as well as a dedicated space for waste and recycling bins. Designed in house in collaboration with the contractor, the storage units are designed to meet residents needs. This project will deliver 57 new homes replacing defective pre-cast concrete houses, offering high quality housing accommodation for people in North Bristol. With the incoming government's stated aim of building £1.5m homes, of which 40% are affordable, housebuilders and contractors need to find ways of efficiently providing for residents' needs for safe and secure outside storage. An old fashioned, tired looking office block is refurbished into an exciting new shared working space. The question is, how can you make the exterior of that space look as exciting as the interior? They did that by removing the ugly glass canopy at the entrance, and replacing with this bespoke glulam design. Featuring lighting on the underside and planting and bespoke signage on top, Kensington Systems manufactured and installed two glulam entrance canopies as part of the the refurb of two buildings in the old Microsoft Campus in the Thames Valley, Reading.
