According to Boeing, China is set to make a significant expansion in its commercial airplane fleet over the next few decades. The aviation giant predicts that by the year 2043, China's fleet will more than double in size. This growth is attributed to the booming economy in China, as well as the increasing demand for air travel within the country. It is projected that the expansion will create opportunities for both domestic and international airlines operating in China. With the surge in demand for air travel, there is also a need for infrastructure development such as new airports and improved air traffic management systems. This rapid growth in the aviation industry signifies China's rise as a key player in the global airline market.

Boeing 787 delays won't stop Air Astana from launching new Asian routes 🇰🇿 Air Astana will receive its first Boeing 787-9 longhaul aircraft in December instead of March 2025 due to the Boeing supply chain’s problems, the airline’s CEO Peter Foster confirmed on Aug 5. The second aircraft will arrive in the second quarter of 2026, the last one is delayed to the end of 2026 or even to 2027. Kazakhstan’s largest carrier signed a lease deal for three aircraft of the type from Air Lease Corporation in 2022 with deliveries planned from early 2025 through 2026. The airline planned to use the new widebody for launching direct flights to New York. “We continue to look at New York as the long-term aspiration for new destinations with 787”, Forster said. – “[But] we are also looking for other long-range destinations not necessarily related to 787”. The airline will now extend the operation of its three 10-years old Boeing 767 airliners. According to Foster, flights to Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and Japan are to be introduced within next 12 to 18 month. Air Astana group carried 4.03 million passengers in the first half of 2024 which was by almost 15% more than a year ago. It expanded capacity to China due to the high demand and strengthened connectivity with South Korea adding Astana-Seoul flights twice a week to Almaty-Seoul daily services. Asian destinations showed the highest Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPK) growth in H1 2024, led by India (+69%), China (+41%) and Malaysia (+27%). RPK on European routes fell by 8%, CIS – by3%. RPK on domestic network increased by 16%. Image: Boeing Subscribe to @CentralAsiaPlusAero

Appeared on AeroRoutes today (15OCT24) is the routing changes of Hainan Airlines' service between Beijing and Boston (Massachusetts Port Authority). From 20OCT24, Boston departure will operate via Brussels Airport as a technical stop, replacing Seattle. This change means the airline operates Boston service as "round-the-world" routing, although the airline does not have traffic rights between Boston and Brussels, as well as Brussels and Beijing as HU730 (HU operates 1 daily nonstop terminator between Beijing and Brussels as HU491/492). #routedevelopment #airtravel #routes

Vietnam's #aviation sector is in shambles at the moment: "Due to issues related to the Pratt & Whitney engines used in the A321, the main aircraft used on domestic routes, Vietnam Airlines recently grounded 12 planes, or about 20% of its narrow-body fleet. Vietjet Air is also affected by the engine issue, but has not disclosed details. Bamboo Airways, embattled and going through a major restructuring, only has eight planes, less than half the 20 it had a year ago." https://lnkd.in/gGppDatf

Turkish Airlines confirmed #Melbourne as its first Australian destination. The airline is set to commence its first service on March 15, operating three times per week between Istanbul and Melbourne via Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). Initial flights will utilize Boeing 787-9 aircraft, with plans to switch to Airbus A350-900 equipment starting March 31. #TurkishAirlines intends to operate nonstop flights between Istanbul and Australia in the future. However, the realization of this plan is expected to be delayed until 2026 at the earliest due to the unavailability of the ideal aircraft needed for such long-haul routes. An aircraft that could fly directly would be the Airbus A350-1000 or the Boeing 777X. #Boeing #Airbus #TurkishAirlines #airbus350 #a3501000 #a350900 #boeing777 #B777 #B777X #787dreamliner #b787 #australia #melbourne #singapore #istanbul #aviation #aviationindustry #airlines #airlineindustry #aircraft #fleet #fleetmanagement #longhaul #flights
