Joe Rogan just signed a huge new deal. What does that mean to you? Joe’s podcasts are just him and his guest. Just talking. Not much in the way of production value. He asks questions. They answer. If they don’t know something, they look it up. If they make factual errors, they correct themselves in real time. Sometimes the conversations are light and funny. Other times they’re serious. There isn’t always mutual agreement. But there always seems to be mutual respect. What do we learn from this? Among other things, that authenticity, humility, and humanity wins. Tell your stories. Tell other people’s stories. Use your platform to educate and entertain. You might not get a 9-figure deal from Spotify. But you’ll win the trust of your audience. That’s worth something, right?

How come Spotify don't have this feature already: Start a daily podcast with two hosts, let them comment and discuss current affairs and trends, highs and lows. Edit it all in 3 to 8 minute blocks, make it run mixed up with the listeners own playlists or whatever the algoritm chooses. Round up some of the most popular shows, ask the podcasters to create unique or "best of" content from their existing catalogues into 3 to 8 minute blocks - throw that into the mix. Make it possible to choose category of content that I want to listen to; like politics, history, entertainment, sports, comedy or fashion to make it more appealing and customized. In this way Spotify will create not only the perfect crossroad between music and podcasts, but also the perfect place to let listeners discover new podcasts. Anyone else would wanna use this feature?

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, the most popular intro type was not a standard produced intro with music and voiceover, but... a 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗯𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵. ~ Strategically, I like this a lot—𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀: 1️⃣ It gives the host time to really think about the content and make a good introduction of it to listeners 2️⃣ It can be recorded alongside the rest of the music OR separately after the call or recording. ~ Meanwhile, a 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬𝙨 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩... 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙙. 🎥 Often, these were video-first shows that were just dumped into a hosting company after being recorded. It’s not JUST about music now... It’s about community . Spotify adds comments, just like YouTube.. Listeners can leave comments on any supported episode on Spotify. Creators will have the ability to like and respond to comments, maintaining control over what appears on their page. With this added feature, Spotify edges closer to becoming a direct competitor to YouTube for creator-listener interaction, building on its video podcast initiatives that began in 2021 and expanded in 2022. FACT: Spotify now has over 250,000 video podcasts. Features including polls and Q&As this year alone will enhance the platform’s journey toward increased engagement and community. This approach can save a minimum of three weeks off the post Memorandum of Sale and reduce the number of sales that fall through. The company uses a unique property reference number to create a single URL for all properties being transacted, allowing all relevant information to be accessed in one place. May is currently seeking feedback from stakeholders in the industry to refine the system.
