Great Day at #employeeengagementsummit2024 by Engage Employee. A vendor heavy event but in those talks and presentation there were great nuggets of insight. Key topics that came up again and again were - hybrid working - pandemic/world crises - silent quitting - cost of living - importance of company values and the common thread that ties us all together (but the growing sense of people disconnecting from vision and purpose of companies) Some key takeaways- - Importance of listening to your employees and acting, with visible continuous improvement - Shadowing employees to really understand their role and how best to communicate with them, what comms channels they use, how long they have to look at things etc. -When things go wrong, don't deny, don't bury your head in the sand, acknowledge and move on, show the employees a vision of the future, where you are all going together rather than dwelling on the crisis.

If you like a little light reading before your inbox, is your company intranet part of that habit? 💻 In my years as an #employeecommunications pro, that’s always been the ideal—get employees to look 👀 at their company intranet home page regularly as a source of company news, updates and resources. Some of the opinions I often hear from clients about their company intranet: 🔹 It’s a mess and no one can find anything. The home page is more of a launching point to the content you’re actually looking for. 🔹 It should be the best source of truth, but no one is reading it. 🔹 It’s the final post where comms go to die. Comms leaders – how do you use your company intranet? Is it your first or your last tactic in your comms plan? 📝 And how do you account for users who don’t sit at a desk as part of their role? Finding the right blend of content on an intranet can be tricky – the balance ⚖ of push/pull employee comms will always be a #commspro challenge.
