Last month, the Florida National Guard participated in the Army National Guard's capstone training event, enabling brigade combat teams to achieve the readiness and proficiency necessary to deploy, fight, and win battles across the globe. “XCTC was definitely one of the hardest things I’ve done in my military career, but being with the squad that I was with, we developed the camaraderie to push through it all together and completing the mission with the people you love, it’s an incredible feeling.” For the full culmination video, see below 👀 #FLNG #Floridafirst #rightreadyrelevant #XCTC2024

Just got back from this training. There are a few key lessons that I walked away with. I serve as an Intelligence Officer. My key responsibility is to analyze the opposing force and how they are operating on the battlefield 1. Quickly adapt to change - The enemy doesn't stay put. It is critical to understand where the enemy is at all times so that our forces stay safe. Adapting to enemy's movements and analyzing their next steps must be done very quickly in order to win the fight. The same is true in business -requirements, needs, budgets, and staff - changes over the course of the project. Identifying these changes and analyzing the impact on the project is crucial to knowing what response is needed to minimize impact and get the project across the finish line. 2. Understand that wrong analysis impacts lives - If my analysis is wrong, the soldiers conducting operations are put at risk. If I tell them there is no enemy in the area based on my analysis, but I turn out to be wrong, lives could be in danger. Of course this is a training exercise but the principle is the same. It is no different in business. Leaders need to understand that livelihoods, families, careers are impacted due to bad analysis. If wrong analysis leads to the budget being blown quicker than expected, then the staff feels the changes and often it is a loss of a job or a smaller bonus. It is crucial for the leader to understand their analysis impacts those around them. 3. Care for those you lead - the mission comes first, but in order for the mission to be successful, soldiers must be cared for... So in a large way, the soldiers come first. The same is true in business. As a leader if you want to get a project across the finish line, then put your employees and those whom you lead ahead of the project. People are always more important than outcomes. If you care for the people, the outcome will often be far better than if you placed the outcome first. #leadership #growthmindset #success #military
The Iowa National Guard completed a successful eXportable Combat Training Center (XCTC) rotation from mid-July through early August 2024. Over 5,000 Soldiers from eight states participated in the large-scale exercise, showcasing their skills and dedication to safety. This operation not only strengthens our state partnerships, but also highlights our appreciation for each Soldier's service, the support from their families, and the understanding of their civilian employers. Norwich knows it's customers. High school students who enroll at Norwich aren't looking for a typical university experience. Cadet or Civilian, they want to test and stretch themselves. MCW is but one example of the challenges they are looking for. The payoff? Confidence, courage, and resiliency and the foundation to build leadership skills. #brandmarketing in #highered #higheredmarketing.
Dare to step outside your comfort zone at Norwich University's Mountain Cold Weather Battalion. Founded in 1947 and once titled the Mountain and Winter Warfare Program, MCW has grown and evolved over time. However, what hasn't changed is our commitment to training cadets to reach their potential as mountain combat soldiers using military mountaineering techniques and small-unit patrolling tactics. Experience unparalleled growth only here. Are you ready for it? #NorwichForever

Great to see the picture of the new recruits from the 64th annual St. Louis Cardinals Company. Our 66th St. Louis Cardinals Company will be sworn in at the June 13 St. Louis Cardinals game. The DOD and services also need to review the DOD instruction on permanently disqualifying (PDQ) issues and develop new policies based on modern military medicine and treatment. There is a benefit to recruiting more by reevaluating the DOD PDQ instruction. Additionally, empowering the senior officers in charge of each service’s recruiting command with greater waiver authorities would be a significant step forward. The Pacific region is forcing the Army to be more intentional with its capabilities and employment. This is one of the lessons distilled halfway through the rotation at the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center in Hawaii with 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division. That unit is one of three so-called transforming-in-contact units that is helping pioneer and innovate new tactics and employment of technology for the Army. https://lnkd.in/eXXmP973

Such an inspiring Leader at a critical time.
USAF Lieutenant General Daniel Caine and Tech-Labs Chief Revenue Officer Chris Harris connected at The Crescent Dallas as Dan Caine inspired the room with his firsthand account of defending the skies in an F-16 jet fighter above Washington, D.C., on 9/11, shortly after the attacks. Special thanks to Business Executives for National Security (BENS) for National Security for coordinating this special luncheon to remind us of the power of unity, duty, and courage. #AmericanHeroes #DefendingTheSkies #911Remembrance

Did you know that the US has aggressor squadrons in the United States Air Force, US Navy, and United States Marine Corps? These pilots simulate tactics used by other countries during exercises. Below is a video of an F-16 (aggressor) vs a pair of F-15s to show you what I mean. Another paper for your browsing pleasure! “Incidence and Risk Factors for Bone Stress Injuries in United States Air Force Special Warfare Trainees” BLUF: Bone Stress Injury (BSI) incidence proportion for our sample was similar to those seen in other military settings. Military trainees without a history of high-impact sports participation who achieve lower scores on sit-ups tests and have a history of Lower Extremity MSKI have a higher risk for developing a Lower Extremity BSI during the first 120 days of AFSPECWAR training. https://lnkd.in/gF-WSkZ9
