Was honored to be invited back to Mitsubishi for another round of Armed Intruder/Active Shooter training. We've worked closely with them for the last two years, providing training to hundreds of employees, as well as a vulnerability assessment and report that has helped them to harden their facilities and create an even safer environment for the workers. This week, I taught three sessions at their Lake Mary facility and we're working on additional locations, as well. If you'd like info for your company, just give me a shout at Tengel@floridasafety.org.

We are just $75 short of hitting the mark that makes us eligible for additional funds through the NASCAR Giveathon. Can you help us? If we hit $750, it will actually be $1500 thanks to the Dr. Phillips Charities! Any amount you give gets us that much closer -- and ALL the money goes toward helping at-risk youth learn safe driving skills and take the first step toward employment and independence! Check out what's coming in the New Year at The Florida Safety Council...
2024 is going to be a watershed year for the Florida Safety Council! We are launching our "StreetSmart" program to help at-risk youth in underserved areas secure their driver's licenses and receive comprehensive SAFE driver training! We are also redesigning and relaunching our YOUTH PROGRAM courses, including a revitalized Vital Living Skills (VLS) course, which gives young people the tools necessary to understand and navigate alcohol, drug and gang avoidance, seeking and securing employment, managing their health and wellness, understanding rental agreements, contracts, and insurance, learning to disagree respectfully, seeking continuing education opportunities, mastering interpersonal communications and more. Want to support our efforts? Message me through LinkedIn or email me at Tengel@floridasafety.org. Welcome 2024!!

As of October, the Florida Safety Council and Florida Virtual Schools (FLVS) are offering Driver's Ed training to students in Brevard County. BEST part is, if you take the FLVS on-line curriculum, you get THREE 2-hour Behind-the-Wheel sessions from the Florida Safety Council at NO CHARGE. It's not a gimmick and there's no catch. We do the same thing in Polk and Orange Counties. This service is made possible by the Dori Slossberg Fund and the whole goal is building SAFE, experienced young drivers! PLEASE SHARE, especially if you know kids of driving age in Brevard, Polk or Orange Counties!

It's an exciting time at the Safety Council. Our October newsletter captures and shares some of that excitement!
Our October Newsletter is out with lots of great content! Our DUI Manager, Jeff Saputo, is spotlighted on page 2. His experience and professional conviction truly inspires! I am so tickled to be working with him and with our new Behavior Management Director, Brian Faison, to grow these programs, enhance the training and build dynamic new materials. So much positive momentum and program growth is happening at the Safety Council right now...the future's so bright, we gotta wear shades! 😎 Check out the newsletter: https://lnkd.in/esjCczyk

Productive day on Tuesday at the 2023 Safety Day, organized by the Alliance for Central Florida Safety (and co-sponsored by The Florida Safety Council!) We made dozens of great contacts, shared our mission with a variety of interested companies and individuals, and came up with some great strategies for partnering on future safety classes and events. Creating partnerships and alliances is critically important for ANY company but especially for a non-profit, which needs a legion of cheerleaders to carry its message forward! Want to cheerlead for the life-saving safety mission of the Florida Safety Council? Contact me at Tengel@floridasafety.org. I'd love to strategize.
