This week I have decided to write about Stephen Schwarzman. This is because a few months ago I asked a property developer in London if he had any book recommendation on raising capital. He recommended two books Raising Private Capital by Matt Faircloth The DeRosa Group and What It Takes by Stephen A. Schwarzman. I have just started reading What It Takes so far the book is remarkable that why I’m writing about Stephen. Stephen Schwarzman is an American billionaire businessman. In 1985, Stephen and Peter Peterson launched The Blackstone Group, initially focusing on mergers and acquisitions. Over the years, Blackstone diversified into real estate, direct lending, and alternative assets, now manages over $1 trillion in assets. When Blackstone went public in 2007, Schwarzman’s earnings soared, solidifying his status as a financial powerhouse. His still chairman, CEO of Blackstone. Here are 4 key take aways from what it takes; 1. Have clear and distinct goals for your business. Schwarzman emphasizes the importance of setting specific objectives and working towards them. 2. Focus on various areas of leadership, including decision-making, negotiation, and team building. 3. Evolution and Learning. The best executives are made, not born. Continuously absorb information, learn from experiences, and evolve. Whether you’re a student, entrepreneur, or executive, learning and growth are essential. 4. Dream Big.
