Whether you think about it or not, your business is a community. Therefore, the successes or failures in your organization are shared. Building that community up intentionally allows individuals to feel connected and purposeful in their actions. Finding ways to call out the good in your employees intentionally places them in a position to feel even more connected to their work. Another good one to keep yourself in check! But also worth mentioning that it’s always a dichotomy of opposing forces. Needless to say to that it’s not always black and white nor is it always clear if and when certain actions are not aligned with the overall mission. So it’s important to always know what the mission, the goal, the guiding north star Is in order to make the right choices. If the mission is not clear, it’s your responsibility to ask what thr specific outcome of the mission is and what is the why behind it. Once everything is clear. Everything is easy! I value the #ExpertAdvice from Ray Dalio every day! The words "Common Mission" are crucial to the strategic planning process. It is also important to know WHY someone is not consistent with, or disloyal to, the mission. #1 it could be that the person is a narcissist and wants to run their own business their own way. #2 could be that the common mission is not acceptable to everyone. Ray Dalio's book, "Principles" is a great tool to ensure the "Common Mission" is accepted by the team, consistently applied, and it is truly common for the entire team.
