✨ The Symbolism Behind the Eva Rosow Award ✨ The Eva Rosow Award of Excellence embodies more than recognition. It tells a powerful story—connecting San Antonio’s commercial real estate history with the enduring impact of mentorship and leadership. Each element of the award is deeply symbolic: 🏙️ San Antonio Skyline - Reflecting the diverse architectural styles and history of our city, from the Alamodome to old anonymous buildings. A perfect representation of San Antonio’s vibrant and ever-evolving landscape. 🔲 Windows - A window, like a mentor, offers connection, perspective, and protection. It lets in light, bringing knowledge and visibility into the larger world—just as a mentor guides others through their journey. Specific windows on the award tell their own stories: • The Alamo: Courage, honor, and perseverance—core qualities in real estate and mentorship. • St. Anthony Hotel: A symbol of enduring value and countless commercial deals. • Lalo’s Café: A testament to transformation and growth, from dive to tourist destination. • Travis Elementary: Representing the future, where today’s young minds may shape tomorrow’s real estate. • Modern Window: Clean, simple, and strong—symbolizing new, forward-thinking mentors. • Staacke Stevens Building: A landmark of endurance and versatility in our city’s history. The glass award itself mirrors these qualities: heavy, strong, and grounded, yet delicate—requiring protection, just like a mentor’s reputation and the ethics of our industry. 📸 (group photo of our Eva Rosow recipients) Let’s honor these powerful legacies. #WomenInRealEstate #Leadership #Mentorship #CREWSanAntonio #CREWSA #SATX

Do you remember your first experience with design-build? I do! Little did I know 15+ years ago working on that first design-build assignment that our industry would still be talking about collaborative delivery models, including the trends, success stories, and aspects that still need improvement. What remains constant is the opportunity to learn and improve and share perspectives that support both! I enjoyed collaborating with one of my RS&H colleagues (Bryan Kendro) and other industry leaders (Todd H. O'Donnell, DBIA) on this article: Collective Collaboration, When Partnership Pays Off, ENR Southeast.

Mentoring... I think of it like the express lane for your career. You're heading in the same direction as the other traffic in the regular lanes, not necessarily going to the same destination, but with fewer things impeding your progress. I've got nervous anticipation about serving as a mentor tomorrow night for the AIA Houston Women In Architecture Speed Mentoring event. Despite graduating from the KU School of Architecture & Design (ArcD) I've never been a practicing architect! Instead, I created an alternate career path within #architecture that's been perfect for me, my skills, and my goals. So what could young professionals want to learn from me?!? How would you answer these questions: ❓ What are things you wish you knew in the first 10 years of your architecture career? ❓ What questions did you have but didn't know who to ask? ❓ What other career interests did you have that would keep you in architecture, but not as a practicing architect? Check the link below for more event information and to register for the fun!

https://lnkd.in/eEd-Mq2w To best lead your collaborative teacher teams, your guiding coalition must first become a team itself. Guiding coalitions with loosely assembled groups of individuals that don’t have goals, that don’t work interdependently, or aren’t mutually accountable won’t work. @SolutionTree

Secondary School Counselor, Strawberry Mansion HS, School District of Philadelphia, Level II Cert., ΔΣϴ
We are preparing students for postsecondary success. We want a smooth transition. Teaching students to dress for different professional environments, including interviews, should be part of the high school experience. Too many high school students think pants down and abs out are appropriate for school settings and do not understand why they were denied jobs. After students explained to me what they wore to the interview, they didn't understand why what they wore mattered. I don't think suits are needed for high school but I believe reasonable dress code expectations are warranted, including pants up and abs covered for McDonald's interviews, for example. Here is Moorehouse College's recent New Student Orientation. Click the video. 👍🏼
