I join Michele Beffa in expressing my gratitude to Ambassador Ngurah Swajaya for providing us with his insights on Indonesia and to Michele Guerra for organizing the meeting.   Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia and one of the most vibrant democracies in the region. It is also the world’s fourth most populous country with 277 million people across 17’000 islands.   The Country offers opportunities in a variety of sectors and Swiss companies can capitalize on the EFTA-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and, effective August 1, 2024 also on the investment promotion and protection agreement.
