What is a major issue with freshly sawn wood? MOLD. No lumberyard or treating company wants to break open a pack of lumber only to discover mold growing. And, while kiln drying wood ensures the wood reaches optimal temperatures to reduce the possibility of mold growth, it is nearly impossible to protect wood in the interior of a pack if moisture seeps in and is allowed to take root. An excellent solution is surface applied protection provided by AntiBlu® XP64. Featured in our AntiBlu® product line AntiBlu® XP64 offers effective control of sapstain and mold on freshly sawn and seasoned wood products through a proprietary formulation containing the active ingredient propiconazole, commonly used for treatment of wood and agriculture products against a broad spectrum of decay organisms. It is intended for sawmills, exporters, log home truss manufacturers, and utility pole manufacturers and other timber operations seeking effective anti-sapstain and related products from a single, service-oriented supplier. #Mold #MoldPrevention #MoldFree #CleanWood #AntiBlu #SurfaceApplied

A word of caution: Acidic grout cleaner—especially Portland cement—should not be used because it will erode grout’s integrity. We recommend using high-alkaline grout cleaner because it: • Can be used as a restorative cleaner. • Preserves (rather than erodes) grout. • Removes organic soil without damaging grout sealer. • Won’t corrode metal fixtures. Bollards and barriers perform a protective function when protecting walls, structural elements or machines in industrial plants. Protective elements are used e.g. in food industry plants (breweries, dairies, abattoirs), in catering facilities, and hospitals. The shape, diameter of pipes, height of buffers and mechanical resistance parameters are designed in accordance with the individual expectations of a client. https://lnkd.in/e5uGCr7 😎

The Food Facility Freezer Dilemna... What is the Best Structural Solution for a Blast or Spiral Freezer in your Food-grade facility to maximize longevity? I believe there is not a perfectly proven solution for longevity. Some say to utilize heating systems with concrete, some say to utilize polymer slabs for their strong tolerance of wide temperature ranges in comparison to normal concrete. In my opinion, I like the method of installing the FormaF1 Polymer Slab System in tandem with a heating system for the Best results. This way, you have a structural slab with inherent resistance to rapid-temperature and climate changes in case the heating grids were to ever mechanically fail underneath the slab. More costly upfront, but you will save on potential unusability and production losses later on... Unless you happen to have very lenient USDA inspectors. I have seen many horrific freezer flooring situations in many food manufacturing plants. Usually from when the heating system underneath mechanically fails and the concrete falls apart. In any case of correction, excavation work will be needed.

Drying wood in an iDRY vacuum kiln is a game-changer for woodworkers and manufacturers, offering significant advantages over traditional drying methods. Here’s why you experience limited checking and warping with this advanced technology: Even Drying: The vacuum environment ensures consistent drying throughout the wood, reducing internal stresses that cause checking and warping. Controlled Environment: iDRY kilns maintain precise control over temperature and humidity, minimizing the risk of surface damage and ensuring uniform moisture removal. Faster Process: Vacuum drying significantly reduces drying time, lowering the wood's exposure to prolonged stress, which can lead to defects. High Efficiency: The process extracts moisture evenly and efficiently, preserving the wood’s natural integrity and enhancing its quality. You achieve superior results by using an iDRY vacuum kiln, maintaining the wood’s stability and appearance. Discover the benefits of iDRY technology for yourself. I present to you the results obtained from the drying of sawn wood in the month of August (as per the table), where all the presented results were positive, with two exceptions (items 3 and 4): 1) We increased the average number of kilns used by 6.3%, meaning we were able to operate with 8 kilns throughout the entire month; 2) We reduced the drying hours per kiln by 2.6%; 3) Of the 744 hours available in the month, each kiln worked an average of 712 hours, or 95.7% of the time; 4) The average number of cycles per kiln was lower than planned because they operated an average of 712 hours. There are two variables that can be improved to enhance this item. The first is to further reduce the drying time for each cycle, which can be achieved by further optimizing the drying program, and the second is to improve operational availability, i.e., reduce the time between unloading and reloading; 5) We managed to gain almost 6 drying loads (increasing from 116 to 122 loads); 6) We optimized the wood volume in each load by 0.8%; 7) The volume of dried wood at the end of the month increased by 5.5%, enabling us to export 3 additional containers of wood; 8) The yield of dried wood volume per hour compared to the planned amount was 9.65% higher. I am very enthusiastic about these results because I was able to prove to my team that with good planning and a determined team, it is possible to exceed expectations. Additionally, we have already identified more areas for improvement this coming month so that the process of continuous improvement continues to advance. The focus now is to achieve the same development in other sectors (harvesting, forest transportation, and the sawmill). A special thanks to my team for their dedication. Let's keep pushing forward!
