🌟 Celebrating International Women's Day! 🌟 On this International Women's Day, let's honor the significant impact of leaders who empower others to become leaders themselves. The greatest contribution of a leader is to inspire and uplift those around them, fostering a culture where leadership is not a scarce resource but a shared opportunity for all. As we shape the world for the next generation to inherit, it's essential to acknowledge the ongoing challenges that women face in the workplace, often being relegated to lower qualified positions despite their skills and experience. This disparity underscores the importance of creating a more inclusive and equitable environment for all individuals to thrive. We should aspire to build a world where leadership is abundant, and every individual has the opportunity to lead. To address these disparities, we must focus on solutions that promote succession planning, innovative thinking, career growth and development. By investing in empowering women, providing mentorship opportunities, and fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture, we can create a more diverse and equitable future where everyone has the chance to reach their full potential. Let's celebrate equality, champion empowerment, and work together to build a world where leadership is cultivated and shared by all. Happy International Women's Day! 💪🌍 #IWD #Empowerment #Leadership #Equality #InspireInclusion

How to combat double bind? Double bind can feel suffocating, forcing individuals to challenge societal expectations. Advocating for gender-inclusive standards and embracing diverse leadership styles are crucial steps. Raising awareness of this phenomenon and promoting inclusive environments is equally important. In these environments, individuals are judged by their abilities, not outdated stereotypes - this fosters equality, equity, and empowerment. Recognize and challenge bias: Organizations can foster bias awareness and self-reflection through training programs, helping individuals recognize and address non-conscious biases. It entails cultivating a culture that encourages open dialogue, offering resources for challenging assumptions, and promoting unbiased decision-making. Evaluation standards: Assess both men and women according to equitable criteria. When forming opinions about a female leader's likability or assessing her credentials, reflect on whether your judgment would remain consistent if she were male. Representation of women leaders: This involves advocating for women's progression into leadership positions and ensuring parity in career advancement opportunities. Organizations can achieve this through initiatives like mentorship and sponsorship programs tailored to support women. These programs offer guidance, support, networking opportunities, and skill enhancement. Addressing the double bind empowers women in leadership, fostering workplace equality and empowerment. Let's dismantle systemic biases and create environments where all can thrive! As we pause to celebrate International Women's Day, I am filled with gratitude for the remarkable women who continue to shape and lead within our supply chain industry. Recently, I had the pleasure of sharing a morning meal with a group of enterprising women managers and leaders in supply chain. Our discussion was candid and enlightening, leaving me with several key takeaways that I believe are worth sharing: 1️. Listening is truly an underrated skill. Taking the time to listen, understand, and empathize with others is fundamental to fostering collaboration and driving meaningful change. 2️. Don’t portray women as Super humans, give them chance and space to be humans. It's essential not to place unrealistic expectations on women in the workplace. Instead, we must provide them with the space and support to thrive as their authentic selves. Let's empower women to be humans first and foremost. 3️. Sometimes you got to listen more than what is being said, offer help before it is asked for. Let's cultivate a culture of proactive assistance and genuine care for one another. In light of these insights, I want to extend a heartfelt invitation to all professionals, regardless of gender, to join me in championing equity and inclusion within our industry and beyond. Together, let's continue to uplift and empower one another as we strive for a more equitable and inclusive future. #InternationalWomensDay #DiversityandInclusion #SupplyChainLeadership

🌟 Empowering Voices: Celebrating International Women's Day 🌟 At THE VISION, we believe in the power of different perspectives to drive growth, foster innovation, and inspire leadership. On this IWD, we're proud to reaffirm our purpose to bringing lesser-spoken voices to the board table. Diversity isn't just about representation; it's about recognizing and valuing the unique viewpoints, experiences, and talents that each individual brings to the table. By amplifying the voices of women and other underrepresented groups, we not only create a more inclusive and equitable business environment where everyone can thrive, but according to McKinsey, companies with diverse executive teams are 21% more likely to outperform in profitability. So good society and good for business. As Maya Angelou famously said, "Each time a woman stands up for herself, she stands up for all women." Today, and every day, let's celebrate the achievements and contributions of women around the world, and commit to creating a more inclusive future for all. Together, we can drive positive change and create a world where people value difference and different perspectives to grow their perspectives and businesses. #InternationalWomensDay #DiversityandInclusion #Growth #Innovation #Leadership

In a previous post, I boldly declared, "Screw tradition." Today, on International Women's Day, that sentiment echoes even louder! I want to take a moment to share a personal reflection on a journey that holds a special place in my heart - the experience of being a woman breadwinner. As the world continues to evolve, so do our roles and responsibilities. I've proudly embraced the role of the primary earner in my household, navigating a path that challenges traditional norms. It's not always an easy journey, and criticism often comes my way because it doesn't align with the so-called "traditional" expectations. But here's the thing - tradition isn't a fixed concept; it evolves with time. The rise of women as breadwinners isn't a departure from tradition; it's a progression, a reflection of the changing dynamics in our society. It's about breaking free from stereotypes and demonstrating that leadership, ambition, and success transcend gender. To my fellow women breadwinners, I want to emphasize this: don't let societal expectations dim your light. Your achievements are valid, your hard work matters, and your success is paving the way for a more inclusive future. We are redefining what it means to be a provider, and that's something truly worth celebrating! On this day, let's not only applaud our individual journeys but also use our stories to inspire others. Share the challenges you've overcome and the victories you've achieved as a woman breadwinner. Together, let's break down stereotypes, challenge perceptions, and foster a world where everyone's unique journey is not just acknowledged but celebrated. #internationalwomensday #embraceempowerment #genderequality

As we celebrate #InternationalWomensDay, let's shine a light on the invisible barriers that hinder women's progress: the glass ceiling, sticky floor, and the leaky pipeline. The Glass Ceiling: Despite qualifications and achievements, women often hit an invisible barrier to top leadership roles. The Sticky Floor: Societal and organizational practices keep many women in low-mobility, low-wage jobs. Picture being stuck on a floor so sticky, it's hard to lift your feet and climb up. The Leaky Pipeline: This represents the challenges women face from education to career advancement, losing many talented individuals along the way. These metaphors represent real challenges but also remind us of the resilience and determination of women who navigate and overcome these barriers every day.

👩💼 What are the key factors contributing to the underrepresentation of women in CEO positions, and how do gender dynamics influence leadership representation in Fortune 500 companies? The consulting firm Spencer Stuart conducted a global study on top management in leading corporations, focusing on gender diversity and appointment sources. While men dominate key roles like CEO potential positions, women are often in support functions. The trend persists worldwide, limiting female CEO candidates and reflecting societal biases. The research is also in line with that of Viviane de Beaufort, a professor at the ESSEC Business School. In a survey of the career aspirations of 295 French women managers, she found that women do want to rise to the highest positions -- but not at any price. As Louise Champoux-Paillé and Anne-Marie Croteau, PhD, CDir, of Concordia University - John Molson School of Business, explain in The Conversation UK, organisations must value functional and soft skills equally and actively support women in frontline leadership roles to overcome biases and pave the way for gender equality in top corporate positions.↴ #genderequality #womeninbusiness #diversityequityinclusion #iwd2024
