This week the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA finalized rules for mandatory automatic emergency braking to reduce road fatalities and injuries. This will align the US with safety regulations already in place in other jurisdictions such as the European Union. **A Disappointing Customer Journey: BMW i7 Purchase by Our Director** At Biotech Packages we believe in sharing experiences that can help our clients and the industry at large. Recently, our Director faced an unfortunate and frustrating situation with Deewan Motors Lahore while purchasing a BMW i7. After booking the vehicle in December, the delivery was delayed multiple times, with commitments for June, then July, and even August. Eventually, when the car arrived in Lahore on September 23rd, it was discovered that a electrical issue was holding up the delivery. Furthermore, due to the delays, a change in government policy on EV vehicles led to an additional cost of 14 million PKR in duties. This experience has been a lesson in transparency, customer service, and the impact of unforeseen delays. My Unfortunate Experience with Dewan Motors Lahore - BMW i7 Purchase In December, I booked a BMW i7 from Deewan Motors Lahore, with a committed delivery in June. Prior to June, they informed me that production was ahead of schedule, assuring early delivery and requesting an additional deposit. I waited patiently until June, but no car arrived. Then came the commitment for July, followed by another for August. By August, I was told the car had reached the port, pending clearance. They assured me it would only take a day or two for delivery, but this continued until the end of September. Finally, on September 23rd, my car reached Lahore, but upon attempting to receive it, I discovered that the car’s supply was on hold due to a technical electrical error. Now, they claim it could take another 4-6 weeks to resolve. The delay has been extremely frustrating, but the worst part is the financial impact. Due to the delay, Pakistan’s government policies on EV vehicles changed, resulting in an additional duty of around 14 million PKR. I’m deeply disappointed with Deewan Motors’ behavior throughout this process. The #initiative aims to enhance #awareness of vehicle safety. Customers can learn about a vehicle’s safety features by scanning the QR code on the sticker. The #carmakers whose vehicles have undergone crash testing as part of the safety program will receive the QR code stickers from Bharat NCAP. The #manufacturer, the name of the car or model, the testing date, and the safety star ratings for both adults and children will all be listed on these stickers. Extensive information on the car can be found by #scanning the sticker. The #TataSafari, #Harrier, Tata Nexon EV MH, and #PunchEV are currently among the Tata Motors vehicles that have passed crash testing. Bharat NCAP has given these cars 5-star ratings for the safety of both adult and kid occupants. "Please see yesterday’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Consumer Alert (link below). The NHTSA urges used car buyers and owners to be aware of cheap, substandard replacement air bag inflators that can cause death or serious injury in a crash. Three people have been killed and two people have suffered life-altering, disfiguring injuries in the past nine months due to these faulty aftermarket replacement air bag inflators. In all five cases, the vehicles had previously been involved in a crash, and their original equipment air bags were replaced with defective, substandard inflators, in most cases confirmed to have been manufactured overseas. These dangerous aftermarket parts malfunctioned in subsequent crashes, sending large metal fragments into drivers’ chests, necks, eyes, and faces, killing or severely injuring drivers in otherwise survivable crashes. https://lnkd.in/dUQf3ZrV Please share this information with your coworkers and contractors."
