2️⃣ Round Two: Saudi Arabia 2️⃣ Max Verstappen completed an utterly dominant show last week in Bahrain by achieving a grand slam — and he was joined by teammate Sergio Pérez and Carlos Sainz on the podium. With Bahrain done and dusted, the F1 circus will fly westward on the Arabian Peninsula to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for the second round of the season. Overlooking the Red Sea in the background, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit is a high-speed track that demands precision from the drivers as they tackle its 27 turns. So, what should we look out for this weekend? 👀 Ahead of the 2024 race, here’s a little throwback to what happened last year on the 2023 edition of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix: 1️⃣ Sergio Pérez qualified on the front row with Alonso, while Verstappen had to start from P15 due to a driveshaft failure in Q2. 💔 Lance Stroll retired on lap 16 due to an engine failure and Alex Albon’s race also prematurely ended on lap 27 due to brake failure. 🏁 Pérez won the race ahead of teammate Verstappen and Alonso in third. Double points finish that evening for Mercedes, Ferrari, and Alpine. Meanwhile, McLaren endured a difficult evening, with Piastri and Norris finishing P15 and P17, respectively. p/s: Do remember that this week’s race takes place on Saturday instead of Sunday due to the start of the holy month of Ramadan. Here we are with Jeddah results for our Formula 2 duo, Victor & Zak! 🇸🇦 Despite a session disturbed by red flags, Victor quickly found his feet and confirmed his pace with 4th place in Qualifying, while Zak finished 14th, less than half a second behind him. During the Sprint Race, Zak almost stalled on the grid and fell back to P20, but then drove a solid race, moving up to 16th place before having to retire in the final kilometres with a mechanical problem. Victor was also forced to retire due to a broken suspension after he was pushed into a wall. In the Feature Race, Victor lost three places at the start and was never able to get into a good rhythm with the two different tyre specifications. He gradually dropped down the field but managed to secure a single point with a 10th place finish. Zak got off to a good start, but also struggled to maximize his car's potential. Out of the points, he retired following a spin with only two laps to go. Sébastien Philippe: “Jeddah is not an easy circuit for a rookie, but Zak did everything in his power to progress and gain more experience. Victor found some good pace in qualifying, showing a clear improvement compared to Bahrain, although we still struggled to get the best out of the new package. In the feature race, Victor was unable to exploit the potential of the hard and soft tires, and he lost pace as a result. We have two weeks to analyze the data from Bahrain and Jeddah and understand how to find some more performance.” Victor Martins: “Jeddah is one of my favorite tracks, and we had a strong performance here last year. After the disappointment in Bahrain where we identified our issues, we were confident we were moving in the right direction. In Jeddah, we got closer to pole position, even though we were still missing nearly two-tenths. I started the Feature race without Sprint data, and that didn’t help, but during the race, the balance was not excellent, and we didn't have good pace compared to our competitors.” 📸 Formula Motorsport Limited #Formula2 #F2 #ARTGP #Artgrandprix #motorsport #Jeddah #driver #technology

🔴 NEWS: Carlos Sainz said that Ferrari “lost months” of development of the SF24 after reverting back to the Imola specification ahead of the British Grand Prix. The team had to revert back following its update for the Spanish Grand Prix didn’t work as expected. In the high speed corners, the car was bouncing too much which made the drivers struggle a lot in Spain and Austria. In practice at Silverstone, Sainz and Leclerc splitted packages for comparison works. 🗣️ “It is clearly not good enough,” Sainz acknowledged. “We have basically the same car as in Imola and since Imola everyone has upgraded, probably added two tenths to the car and we have had to revert.” 🔹“We have lost two or three months of performance gain in the wind tunnel or performance we could have added in these three months, so clearly we haven't taken the right calls recently.” 🔹He added: “I feel like today was at least back-to-basics, back to a car which was in Imola and we just need to upgrade it from here. But it is clear that our rivals are a good step ahead of us.” The last two rounds ahead of the summer break will be in Hungary and its twisty circuit and the high speed rollercoaster in Spa. Two very different track characteristics, so Ferrari have to switch back and forth between specifications. ⬇️ What do you think? #F1 #Formula1 #CarlosSainz #ScuderiaFerrari #Ferrari #SF24 #essereFerrari #CharlesLeclerc #BritishGP #Silverstone #F1Race #FIA #F12024 #Race #Racing #Racer #GrandPrix #GP #F1Tech #Official #Car #RaceCar #News #Update #F1Racing #Motorsport #RacingUpdate

DRS-Baiting - The Sicilian Defense of Formula 1 Racing! Picture this - It's the 2022 F1 Bahrain Grand Prix, and fans are on the edge of their seats as Leclerc's F1-75 goes alongside Verstappen's RB18! After a decade of waiting, the Tifosi finally had reason to dream again - a Ferrari with the potential to win the World Championship! 🙌❤️ But as the two titans clash on track, something peculiar catches the eye of keen observers. Just before the DRS detection zone, both drivers suddenly slam on the brakes abnormally harder leading them to almost locking up their fronts! What's going on here? Enter the world of DRS-baiting! 🔥 DRS-baiting is a strategic masterstroke where the trailing driver intentionally slows down before the DRS detection point, allowing their rival to momentarily take the lead. Why? So they can then unleash the power of DRS and catapult past them in the activation zone! It's a high-stakes game of chicken, where the driver who blinks first loses. Leclerc and Verstappen turned it into an art form, each trying to outsmart the other and gain that crucial advantage. But DRS-baiting is not without its risks. Sudden braking in high-speed zones can lead to dangerous situations, and some argue it goes against the spirit of fair racing. Yet, others see it as a clever strategic tool, no different from a perfectly timed pit stop or a daring overtake. As the debate rages on, one thing is clear: DRS-baiting has added a thrilling new dimension to the chess match that is F1 racing. Will the FIA intervene and tweak the rules, or will drivers continue to push the limits of strategy and skill? 🤔🏁 One thing's for sure - whenever you see two cars suddenly slowing down before a DRS zone, you know you're in for a spicy one! #f1 #formula1 #saudiarabiangp #saudiarabia #drsbaiting #strategy #motorsports #engineering

🏎️ It’s race week! 🇧🇭 The 2024 Formula 1 season gets underway in #Bahrain this weekend following on from last week’s pre-season testing. Ferrari's Carlos Sainz was fastest in testing. 🇸🇦 The first two races this season (Bahrain and #SaudiArabia) will both take place on the Saturday of the weekend, not the Sunday, to align with the start of Ramadan on Sunday the 10th of March. Other key themes going into this season: - 🇨🇳 The return to #China for the first-time since Covid. Potentially huge for commercial partners with an interest in the market, and for regional brands now seeing F1 as a viable marketing tool once again. - 🟣 Lewis Hamilton’s final season with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team. How will the x7 time World Champion leave a team he has become synonymous with? Who will be putting themselves forward as his replacement? (I hope it’s Kimi Antonelli - so keep an eye out for FIA Formula 2 this season). - 🇳🇱 It is *almost* a foregone conclusion that Max Verstappen will be claiming a 4th World Championship - keep an eye on the battle for second between McLaren Racing, Scuderia Ferrari and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team. - ⚔️ The inter-team battle between Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri at McLaren is another story I am looking forward to seeing unfold. #Formula1 #Motorsport #SportPartnerships

We can learn many things from life. Today sees Sir Lewis Hamilton win his record breaking 9th Silverstone Grand Prix and his first win since Saudi Arabia in 2021. It was a very emotional finish for Lewis, he was filled with so many emotions. Joy, relief, and elation for being back in racing contention for him and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team. In Lewis’s team radio messages and in the interviews you can hear how much this home race win means to him. We heard from Lewis who explained that it has been a very tough time since his last Grand Prix win in 2021. He expressed his gratitude to his team and fans for their positivity and energy. You could hear in his voice how hard it has been on him not winning but still turning up daily and competing despite not winning. This win is a celebration to dogged determination and dedication to Formula 1 (F1) and motor racing. Lewis explained it would have been easy to have given up but he has pushed through and secured another win making this his 104 Grand Prix win to date. Next year Lewis will be 40 years old and moves to Scuderia Ferrari in hope to secure his 8th world championship. The lessons I learned from this F1 race: 1. Losses done make you a loser if you keep going. A win is around the corner. 2. It’s easy to give up but keeping going will make us more successful than those who gave up. 3. We can’t be successful alone, we need family, a great team and our own true grit. 4. We must remember our mountain top experiences to take us through our deep dark valleys. 5. Give credit where credit is due. 6. Win graciously and remain humble. 7. Remember your loyal follower/supporters they make such a difference. 8. Turn up daily, each day is full of opportunities and might be the beginning of something special. Did you see the race, what were your takeaways? #success #F1 #lewishamilton #mentalhealth #truegrit #formula1 #formulaone #Mercedes #Ferrari *Image courtesy of SKY News App

🏁 3 Things We Learnt After the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix: 1. Ollie Bearman's DebutL At the risk of stating the blatantly obvious, Ollie Bearman is a rising star. He took to the Ferrari seat with such composure and maturity that it was hard to believe he was 18 and in his first F1 race. He qualified in P11 and then finished the race in P7. I can't wait to see where his future leads him. 2. Mercedes with New Problems?: Mercedes have 'fundamental' problems with their car. Or at least that's what Toto Wolff has said. The first two races of the season have not gone exactly to plan for the team and Saudi Arabia highlighted their issues in high-speed corners. Wolff said that this went beyond a setup issue so we'll have to wait and see if that's something that they can figure out and fix as the season goes on. 3. Alpine's Troubles Continue: Alpine is continuing a run of bad form and there doesn't seem to be a clear path to it getting any better. A first-lap retirement for Pierre Gasly after gearbox issues and Esteban Ocon finishing in P13 has left the team in last place in the Constructors' Championship. Add onto the fact that neither driver could get out of Q1 and there is once again some restructuring going on within the team after some resignations... all does not seem well. What were some of your key takeaways from the race? Share them in the comments! 🏎️💭 #saudiarabiangp #formula1 #raceanalysis #motorsport
