Sunstone Metals Limited (ASX:STM) managing director Patrick Duffy joins Jonathan Jackson in the Proactive studio to discuss a $2.5 million raise through the placement of 500 million new fully paid ordinary shares, priced at 0.5 cents ($0.005) each, representing a 28.6% discount to the last closing price. Additionally, 250 million options will be issued on a one-for-two basis, exercisable at a 50% premium to the offer price, subject to shareholder approval. Proceeds will be used for the preparation of a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) at the El Palmar Copper-Gold Project in northern Ecuador and for the Limon gold-silver discovery at the Bramaderos Gold-Copper Project, with the latter scheduled for next year. The company aims to advance partnership discussions to accelerate exploration and resource growth at both projects. Empire Metals Ltd has tweaked the terms of its agreement over the Pitfield project in Pilbara Australia to give it full control over all minerals discovered there. Pitfield has potential to be one the world’s largest titanium deposits believes Empire, which said the change removes any possible ambiguity about the ownership rights.  Under the revised terms of the 70% Empire and 30% Century Minerals joint venture, there are no exemptions or other separate mineral rights applying to Pitfield. Empire has also paid AS$250,000 for a redefinition of rights at the Pitfield to 70% of all minerals present regardless of their physical or chemical nature. Sunstone Metals Limited has received firm commitments for A$5.024 million via a share placement at 1.2 cents per share to existing institutional and sophisticated shareholders as well as new investors. Proceeds from the placement will be used to fund targeted exploration at the Bramaderos and El Palmar projects in Ecuador, to confirm the potential of existing discoveries and further demonstrate the potential value of the discoveries to financial markets and strategic partners. The company is focusing on the development of the Limon epithermal gold-silver discovery, which already possesses a considerable exploration target, highlighting ‘immense’ potential for a sizeable open pit. The placement was also well-supported by the directors and management of the company, who are contributing a total of A$170,000. Alamos Gold Inc. (TSX:AGI, NYSE:AGI) announced that it will be acquiring Argonaut Gold Inc. (TSX:AR) in a US$325 million all-stock deal which will create one of the largest #gold mines in Canada. Alamos’ Island Gold Mine in Ontario is located next to Argonaut’s Magino mine. The combination of the two operations is expected to result in synergies of US$515 million and increase Alamos’ combined production to more than 600,000 ounces per year. It sees longer-term potential production of 900,000 ounces per year.   Argonaut’s assets in the United States and Mexico will be spun out to its existing shareholders.  Alamos Gold CEO John McCluskey described the transaction as “logical and attractive” for both companies. Nova Minerals Limited has released an SEC-compliant resource estimate demonstrating a large increase to gold in-pit resources at its Estelle flagship to back up its proposed listing on a North American stock exchange. Neither the 5.17-million-ounce S-K 1300 or 9.9Moz JORC estimate include drilling since March last year, and Nova looks to keep adding ounces and turn to development with the backing of US capital. "The increase in the pit constrained resource highlights the extreme sensitivity to a rising gold price and improved technical parameters.
